Events are as follows:
1. Axle Clean and Press Ladder
2. Max Deadlift
3. Sandbag to Shoulder
4. Max Double Overhand Axle
5. Stone Over Bar

Event Rules and Weights:

1. Axle Clean and Press Ladder
Competitor will start behind first Axle, hands off implement. "Competitor Ready, Set, LIFT." Competitor will have 60 seconds to clean and press each axle in order, lightest to heaviest. Must get a "down" call to advance to next axle: elbows locked out over head, head through (biceps to ears), head over shoulders, shoulders over hips, hips over knees, knees over ankles. However you get there is up to you: strict press, push press, push jerk, split jerk, all ok. First two axles will be standard height on bumpers, second two will be on Rogue 26ers. Fastest time WINS!
Wrist Wraps, Chalk, Sleeves, Belts, and Grip Shirts all ok.

*there IS a last man standing Max Axle at 2026 Nationals, so LET's GO!!!

2. Max Deadlift
Competitor will start hands off barbell. "Competitor Ready, Set, LIFT." Competitor will have 30 seconds to complete a successful deadlift on a Texas deadlift bar. Hips through, shoulders back, legs locked. State Records will be up for grabs, so let's see some MONSTER pulls boys and girls.
Straps, Chalk, Belts, Sleeves, and Baby Powder all ok. No suits.

3. Sandbag to Shoulder
Competitor will start behind the first and lightest of four ascending Cerberus Dual Ply Sandbags. "Competitor Ready, Set, LIFT." Competitor will then have 60 seconds to shoulder as many bags as possible for time. Sandbag loaded on either shoulder, standing upright, shoulders over hips, hips over knees, knees over ankles, opposite arm extended out, waiting for the "down" call before advancing to the next bag. This was an event we saw EVERYWHERE a couple years ago, so we're bringing it back. Let's get Nasty. Straps, Chalk, Belts, Sleeves, and Grip Shirts all ok.

4. Max Double Overhand Axle
The Deadlift at 2026 Nationals is a double overhand Axle, so let's see what you've got. This will be a rising bar format off bumpers. Lifters will have unlimited attempts, once you fail, you're out. Sumo or conventional stances are both fine. Lift the axle, double overhand, to traditional deadlift standards, wait for the down call. Simple enough.
Chalk, Belts, Sleeves, Baby Powder all OK. No straps... obviously.

5. Stone Over Bar
Competitors will be re-ordered based on points. Rogue Yokes will be used. Competitor can position stone however they'd like. Once forearms are in contact with cross bar, "Competitor Ready, Set, LIFT." Competitor load the stone over the bar as many times as possible in 60 seconds. I don't want to do this, at all, but there will be NO tacky of any kind allowed for this event to prepare all of us for 2026 Nationals in Iowa. This will also give me and the crew incentive to treat and clean up all of our stones nice nice for the event. As usual, you are not allowed to grab on to the crossbar to "chest push" the stone over the bar.
Belts, Sleeves, CLEAN "tackyless" Stone Sleeves, and grip shirts all ok, NO tacky.

Weigh Ins:
Contact Steve Tripp at info@thetopstrengthproject.com or 774.259.2934 to schedule your weigh in the day before the meet. Day of weight ins are also fine to be sensitive to travel obligations and for individuals who do not need to cut weight.

Also, where the competition will be the weekend before Halloween, plan on there being prizes available for best costume for BOTH competitors and spectators. (competitors must integrate their competition shirt into their costume, please).
