Novice category is for brand new master 40+ athletes

The 60+ class will be divided into light weight and heavy weight for weights and placement

No qualificaitons needed

Start Time: 12:00pm The Silver Strength Amatuer Show will start directly after awards for the Pro show.

Event #1 - Axle Clean and Press away for reps in 60 sec

Athlete may start with hands on the Axle. Clean the Axle to chest and complete as many presses as possible within 60 seconds. Athlete must receive a down command for the rep to count. If the axle is dropped to the floor, athlete may recover and press again. Athlete may rest the bar on their belt.

Allowed - hard and soft belt, wrist wraps, elbow and knee sleeves, grip shirt, chalk

Not allowed - suits, elbow or knee wraps, straps, tacky of any kind

Event #2 - Deadlift Medley

1st deadlift - frame lift x2 each lift will receive a down command

2nd deadlift - regular dl with deadlift bar lift x2 each lift will receive a down command

3rd - 13 inch deadlift lift x2 each lift will receive a down command

Athlete may start strapped in to frame. Athlete will pick up each implement twice! After start command, lift the implemnt must receive down command, lift the implement a second time, receive down command and quickly move to next dl. Must receive down command for each rep to count. This is a potential for 6 total reps. Split times will be awarded if needed. 60 second time limit!

Allowed - chalk, wrist wraps, knee sleeves, hard / soft belt, hitching, up and down side to side movements, just get it up, hips must be thru

Not allowed - knee wraps or tacky

Event #3 - Odd Object Load

3 objects will be loaded onto 3 different height of platforms for time. Athlete may start with hands on the first object and time stops when hands are off the last object or 60 seconds has expired. Platform heights 44, 52, ?

Allowed - hard and soft belt, wrist wraps, elbow and knee sleeves, grip shirt, chalk

Not allowed - suits, elbow or knee wraps, straps, tacky of any kind

Event #4 - Farmers Hold State Record

Athelte starts with hands on the implement. Pick up when given start command and hold. 17" pick height

Allowed: elbow/knee sleeves, wrist wraps, soft and hard belt

Not allowed: elbow/knee wraps, tacky, tacky chalk, or tacky towel, suits, or straps / hooks/ figure 8s

Event #5 - Texas Shaped Husafel Carry for Distance in 60 seconds

Athlete will pick up hussy from a platform. Athlete will be given a start command to start the walk. 30 ft at least one foot must touch the line each time the athlete turns. Continue until 60 seconds has expired.

Allowed: elbow/knee sleeves, wrist wraps, grip shirt, soft and hard belt

Not allowed: elbow/knee wraps, tacky, tacky chalk, or tacky towel, suits, or straps / hooks/ figure 8s
