Welcome to Stateline Strongest III!!!! We are bringing the heat for another year! If you have been a part of Stateline before, you know that I like to keep things kinda Old School, but with a little twist! The vision for this year if I can get the equipment I need, is to do all events Head to Head with another athlete. One, this will keep the competition moving quickly and two, it's straight motivation to push yourself to beat that person across from you!

Travis Ortmayer will be back as our Special Guest Judge! I had Travis out in 2023 at our first comp and he was awesome to have cheering on the athletes and giving tips along the way. He will be doing a training seminar on Friday Aug 22nd, and also some one/one trainings that friday. Stay tuned for more information on that.

Now, let's get into the details: (I am not sure on weights at this time. I will update they as soon as I can!)

Car Deadlift: Still working on what vehicles we will use. You will have 60 seconds to do as many reps as possible. You will receive the "Down" command from the judge once you have locked out the movement. You will be allowed to wear knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, chalk, belts (one soft and one hard if you choose), straps (figure 8 or regular). ABSOLUTELY NO TACKY!!!! You will also NOT be allowed to wear a Deadlift suit or briefs!!

Viking Press: You will be facing away from the weight, you will start with your hands on the bars and once the time starts you will have 60 seconds to fully lock out your press. You must bring the press all the way back down to your shoulder level. You can set the press down and start again, just remember you only have 60 seconds. NO DOUBLE DIPPING!!! You can push press or strict press. You will be allowed to wear knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk, belts (one soft and one hard). ABSOLUTELY NO TACKY!!!

Sandbag Load into Arm over Arm rope pull: You will start behind the UTV. When the time starts, you will run upto the bed, load 3 sandbags, close the tailgate, then run down the course and grab the rope and proceed to pull the UTV down the lane. The distance will be 30'. This is a timed event and the fastest time wins. If you do not complete the event, you will be judged on the distance you pull the UTV. You will be allowed to wear knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk, belts (one soft and one hard). ABSOLUTELY NO TACKY!!!!

Tug of War: This one will be fun! You will be put into a pulling harness and chained to another athlete. On "Go" you will try to pull the other athlete over the line. Think of doing a harnessed truck pull....just against another athlete! This will be done in a bracket style. If there is an odd number of athletes, the athlete in first place, will get a first round bye! You may have to pull a couple times to claim victory! You will be allowed to wear knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk, belts (one soft and one hard). NO Shoes with any type of cleats will be allowed. ABSOLUTELY NO TACKY!!!!

Frame Carry: The athlete will have to carry the frame the distance of the course as fast as possible. (If I can make it happen, there will be a ramp at the end of the course to carry it up, kind of like at The Arnold). The athlete with the fastest time wins. If you are unable to complete the course, your distance will be your score. You will be allowed to wear knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk, belts (one soft and one hard). You are not allowed to use straps (figure 8 or regular). ABSOLUTELY NO TACKY!!!

All events will be held indoors again. We all know that late August can be brutal, so let's enjoy the A/C!! Just like previous years, NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS for spectators. There is a great concession stand available just feet from the field. There will be a spectator fee of $10 for anyone 12 and up.

If you don't see a division that you fall into, please reach out to me and I will do my best to make that happen! Also for all novice athletes, I have both men and women separated in to MW & HW. If there is not enough people signed up to make it worth it, I will combine them and make 1 large group. I will give you plenty of warning!
