Event 1: Max Axle Press
60-second limit. From Blocks - No Clean. Wessel’s Rules - Athletes will have 3 attempts to reach a max weight. Weight will increase by 10lbs. each round. Weight will not decrease. Last successful lift will be recorded. Athlete may press, push-press, push jerk or split jerk the implement overhead to a locked-out position, thrusting is not allowed. Athlete must wait for the “DOWN” signal to receive a good lift. A “Good Lift” is defined as having the implement locked out, under control overhead with arms straight, head through, legs and feet parallel and stationary. Heaviest lift wins.
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Knee, Elbow and Wrist Wraps or Sleeves, Belt
Equipment NOT Allowed: Lifting Straps, “Built-up” belt to provide shelf
Starting Bar Weight:
Women - 85lbs.
Men - 175lbs.
Event 2: Carry Medley
Frame Carry, Sand Bag, Duck Walk
60 second time limit. Athletes must complete events in the proper order: Frame Carry for 75ft. , Sand Bag for 50ft. & Duck Walk for 25ft. Athletes may start with their hands on the implement. Athletes must carry the Sand Bag in front and not shouldered. The whole implement must cross the line before moving to the next. Sliding or dragging the implement will result in a 5-second penalty added onto the finish time.
Time will stop when the last implement completely crosses the finish line.
Equipment Allowed: Belt, Chalk, Knee wraps or sleeves.
Equipment NOT Allowed: Tacky, Lifting hooks, Straps or Supportive suits.
Event 3: Mammoth Bar Deadlift
60-second limit per attempt. Ladder Style - Athletes will have UNLIMITED attempts to reach a max weight. Any failed attempt will be considered the athlete's final attempt. Weight will increase by 20lbs. each round. Weight will not decrease. Athletes may choose when to jump in. Last successful lift will be recorded. Heaviest lift wins. Conventional stance only - Hands must be outside of legs. No Sumo.
Good Lift: Athlete must lift the barbell to a standing position with head up, shoulders back, legs and feet in line. Once the "DOWN" signal is given for the lift, the athlete must return the bar to the floor under control. Dropping the bar will result in a “No lift.”
All classes will start at 200lbs.
Equipment Allowed: Straps, belt, chalk, knee wraps or sleeves.
Equipment NOT Allowed: Tacky, Tacky Towel, Supportive Suits or lifting hooks.
Event 4: Conan's Wheel
No time limit. Athlete may start with arms under the implement. Athletes will travel with the implement as far as possible. No drops allowed. Implement must be carried at the front of the body (eg - no back squat, etc.). Sliding the implement will result in stopping the event. Distance will be measured at point of contact.
Equipment Allowed: Belt, Knee wraps or sleeves, Elbow sleeves, chalk.
Equipment NOT Allowed: Tacky, Built up Belt
Event 5: Atlas Stones
60 second time limit. Athletes must start with hands resting on the platform. Stone must be lifted to a 48” platform in ascending order. Time will stop when the athlete's hands are off the final stone. Stones are to be loaded under control. Athletes will have to reload stones that roll off any side of the platform.
Time splits will be taken after each successful stone lift.
Equipment Allowed: Tacky, Stone Sleeves, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves.
Equipment NOT Allowed: Chalk
