Events:

Max Mouser Block Press

  • Three attempts to make the biggest lift possible!
  • 30 seconds to complete an attempt.
  • From ground to overhead. Must have elbows locked out, feet in a "square" stance, and wait for the judge's down command! You may use any technique (except placing the block on your head... seriously) to press the block, such as a split jerk, but if you do feet must come back together to a square stance during lockout before the down command.
  • Each athlete may lift or pass on any given weight. Once you miss a weight, you are “out” and will be credited with your highest successful attempt. The athlete is responsible for maintaining his/her position in the rotation; failure to do so may result in disqualification from the event.
  • In the event of a tie, the athlete that took fewer attempts to reach the weight will be credited with the higher placing. If that doesn't work, we go to higher opener. If that doesn't work, we got to higher second attempt. If that doesn't work... well then you just tie and split points!
  • Elbow sleeves & knee sleeves (buckling mechanisms and straps must not be tightened), a single belt, and wrist wraps are legal. Belt buckle to back/side
  • Blocks will increase in 10 or 20 pound increments (see chart). Classes using the Mini-Block will switch to the big block once they have maxed out the capacity of the Mini.
  • Equipment not allowed: grip shirts, anything sticky, no more than one soft belt and one hard belt
  • Tape on the forearms is allowed as long as the sticky side is down. Can also use chalk, liquid chalk, and forearm sleeves if you so choose

Deadsled Frame Carry

  • 60 second time limit to cover as much distance as possible!
  • Frame used will be a Power Center Deadsled, using the Fat Grip handles.
  • Course will be 50ft long. Staff/judge will tell you when to turn after each 50ft.
  • Dropping the Frame results in your turn being over.
  • Equipment not allowed: anything sticky on your hands, lifting straps of any kind.
  • Equipment allowed: chalk or liquid chalk.

Wagon Wheel Axle Deadlift

  • 60 second time limit to perform the most reps possible.
  • All women and men’s 175 Teens/novice/masters will use a fixed axle and 13” titan wagon wheels. All others will use a fixed axle and larger 17" antique wagon wheels while standing on a platform to MAKE THE HEIGHT 13".
  • The deadlift must have hips fully locked out and knees completely straight every rep and receive down command from judge. Wagon Wheels must be set on the ground again every rep and receive up command from judge. Hitching/ramping is allowed (this is strongman!).
  • Athletes must pull with a “conventional” stance with hands outside legs, “sumo” stance deadlifting is not allowed (where the hands are inside the legs).
  • Dropping the bar after a "good rep" will cause loss of that rep. Bar must be set down with hands still on it.
  • Athlete will start behind a marked line before the start of time. Getting straps around bar will be during your 60-second time limit.
  • Equipment Allowed: Straps, belts, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk, baby powder, non-rigid neoprene warming pants are OK
  • Equipment not allowed: Knee wraps, power pants, briefs or deadlift suits, grip “hooks”, or any baby oil/liquids

Yoke Carry

  • 60 seconds to complete the course. Competitors will have 60 seconds to pick up a yoke on their back, carry it until the front crosses 50 feet, and set it down. Then they will turn around and repick the yoke and carry it back across 50 feet. Fastest time wins.
  • One drop on the course itself will be allowed (2-second slide penalty if there is excessive forward movement of the yoke with the drop). If a second drop on the course occurs (excluding setting the yoke down past the 50 foot line) the competitor is done and total distance will be credited (EDIT 11/21/23 - originally the description mistakenly said "distance AND TIME will be credited).
  • All women and men’s 175 Teens/novice/masters will use a 185lb Rogue Yoke. All others will use a 330lb Power Center Yoke.
  • Equipment not allowed: grip shirts, anything sticky, deadlift or squat suits.
  • Equipment allowed: chalk, belts.

Max Stone Load

  • Three attempts to make the biggest lift possible!
  • 30 seconds to complete an attempt.
  • From ground to a 48" platform (this event is planned to be outside, weather permitting. If weather forces us inside, we will replace a "load" with "over bar" at the same height).
  • Each athlete may lift or pass on any given weight. Once you miss a weight, you are “out” and will be credited with your highest successful attempt. The athlete is responsible for maintaining his/her position in the rotation; failure to do so may result in disqualification from the event.
  • Hands must remain on the stone for the load (you may not grab the platform or yoke bar to try finishing an attempt with your chest, for example)
  • Equipment not allowed: tacky, grip shirts, anything sticky, no more than one soft belt and one hard belt
  • Tape on the forearms is allowed as long as the sticky side is down. Can also use chalk, liquid chalk, and forearm sleeves if you so choose
