If the athlete drops the log, they must clean and press the log away again. Viper pressing is allowed. The judge will give a down command for a good rep. Any form of pressing is allowed (Push, Strict, etc.). The log can NOT rest on athletes head.
A down command will be given when the athlete has pressed the log overhead and demonstrated:
- A fully locked-out elbow position.
- Standing upright with straight legs and squared feet.
- Full control of the log.
- Eyes focused on the judge.
If a down command is not given and the athlete drops the log or lowers it, the rep will not count. If an athlete has an elbow lockout issue, they must notify the judge prior to their attempt.
After receiving a down command, the log must fully return to the rack position before beginning the next press attempt. The log can be dropped overhead but must be controlled and guided to the floor. Any uncontrolled or "tree drop" action will result in a ZERO for the event. Respect the equipment, and ensure the log is dropped on the designated stall mats.
