The World Artistic Gymnastics Championship is the premier international competition in artistic gymnastics, bringing together the world's best gymnasts to compete for individual and team titles.

Organized by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), it showcases breathtaking routines on apparatus like the vault, uneven bars, beam, floor, rings, and pommel horse.

The World Artistic Gymnastics Championships are held annually except during Olympic years. For the first time ever, Indonesia will host this year's world artistic gymnastics championships, with Rotterdam, Netherlands set to welcome it back for the third time next year.

Top Gymnasts to Watch in Jakarta
This year's championships feature a stacked field of Olympic and World Champions, plus rising stars ready to make their mark.

Leading Gymnasts to Watch in Jakarta
Kaylia Nemour (Algeria):
The 18-year-old made history at Paris 2024 by winning Olympic gold on the uneven bars with a huge 15.700 score, Algeria's first-ever Olympic gymnastics medal.

Shinnosuke Oka (Japan):
Oka is the reigning Olympic all-around champion from Paris 2024, where he clinched the men's all-around gold (score 86.832) ahead of China's Zhang Boheng.

Angelina Melnikova (Individual Neutral Athlete (AIN)):
A superstar of women's gymnastics, Melnikova was part of Russia's 2020 Olympic team gold and won the all-around bronze in Tokyo, as well as the 2021 World all-around title (the first non-US woman to do so in a decade).

Eleftherios "Lefteris" Petrounias (Greece):
Nicknamed the "Lord of the Rings," Petrounias is the 2016 Olympic champion on still rings and earned bronze medals on rings at both Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, as well as a three-time World Champion on rings (2015, 2017, 2018).

Recap: 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Antwerp
The 2023 World Championships in Antwerp marked a historic return to the city where gymnastics first crowned its world champions over a century ago.

Across seven days of breathtaking performances, familiar legends cemented their legacies while a new generation of stars emerged on the global stage. The United States topped the overall medal table with 4 golds, and 11 total medals.

The Standout Moments
Simone Biles (USA) stole the headlines once again, clinching her sixth all-around world title, the most ever by a female gymnast. Her performances on vault and floor were pure dominance - highlighted by her signature Yurchenko double pike vault, now officially recognised as the "Biles II" in the Code of Points.
Daiki Hashimoto (JPN) reaffirmed Japan's supremacy in men's all-around gymnastics, marked by his precision on high bar and explosive power on floor. His consistency across all six apparatus secured him back-to-back world all-around titles.
Rebeca Andrade (BRA) continued to raise Brazil's gymnastics profile, taking gold on vault and silver in the all-around. Her dynamic routines combined artistry with athleticism - making her one of the most complete gymnasts of the modern era.
Kaylia Nemour (ALG) made history for Algeria by capturing uneven bars silver, the nation's first-ever World Championship medal. Her fluid execution and high-difficulty elements made her one of the breakout athletes of the competition.
Illia Kovtun (UKR) impressed with their unique technical styles, earning the silver medal in the men's all-around.
