The 59th Annual Phoenix Scottish Games will be held at Gilbert Regional Park, March 2nd and 3rd, 2024.

Registration closes January 31st, 2024. All classes will be limited to ten athletes. Walk-on signups will be allowed at the discretion of Athletic Directors.

Check-in both days will begin at 7:45am

Please confirm the day on which you are throwing before registering. All registrations will be vetted against NASGA and the class in which an athlete normally throws, if they have competed in the past. Athletes may not "jump down" a class to throw on their "preferred" day. 

All nine events will be contested. Appropriate weights for each class will be used. Lunch will be provided both days. 

We will not be hosting a Men's Novice class. If you planned to compete as a Novice, enter the C class.

Lightweight athletes:

Lightweight athletes may weigh in, in person, up to but no more than 24 hours prior to the day on which you compete. Friday morning weigh-ins will be available at the field beginning at 8am. You may also weigh in the morning of competition if you prefer. Weigh-ins for Lightweight Women will be available on-field Saturday morning and all day. 

MEN'S LIGHWEIGHTS: YOU MUST WEIGH UNDER 200# AT TIME OF WEIGH IN

WOMEN'S LIGHTWEIGHTS: YOU MUST WEIGH UNDER 150# AT TIME OF WEIGH-IN

If you do not make weight, you may still throw with your class, but your scores will not be counted towards the aggregate for the day.

General notices:

Athletes must wear a kilt to compete. Kilt hose (knee high) socks are strongly encouraged. 

Stone weights may vary based on what we have available for each class on the day of competition. 

In the event of a world record attempt, implements will be weighed using a postal scale to ensure accuracy and validity of record; steel tape will be used to measure World Record throws. In the event of a Masters World Record attempt, the process for verifying World Records established by SMAI will be used. If you believe that you may be attempting a World Record of any kind during competition, please contact the Athletic Director(s) directly ahead of the event.

C Class competitors may throw the 42# weight for distance/height with permission of judge and Athletic Director(s).

Events, weights, order of events, and extra throws are subject to change at the discretion of the Athletic Director(s). 

Athletic Director(s) reserve the right to remove an athlete from competition if the athlete's behavior is deemed unsafe, unsportsmanlike, or causes a disruption to the competition as a whole.
