Events:
- Press medley - double dumbbells, axle with tires, circus dumbbell
- Carry medley - yoke, duck walk
- Max silver dollar deadlift (using deadlift bar - Wessels rule)
- Natural stones - load to varying heights
- Devil's Hold - cars, chains & Dinnie rings (trust us - it's gonna be awesome)
Rules:
All Adaptive Athletes are allowed to have a guide or guides as needed for each event. Guides must not aid in lifting implements, but can assist the athlete in navigating to them and setting up (including strapping in on the deadlift, if needed). Unless otherwise noted, Adaptive Athletes will follow the same rules as other competitors. Promoter reserves the right to revise rules during the event to ensure safety and inclusion for all adaptive athletes.
Press medley - Athlete has 60 seconds to press all three implements in this rotation: double dumbbells, axle with tires, circus dumbbell, axle with tires, double dumbbells, etc. Go through the rotation as many times as possible. The cumulative number of successful lifts will be used for scoring. No split times will be taken. Judge will give a down command for each press. Split jerks are allowed, but lift must be completed with feet parallel to one another. Athlete must use control when putting the implement back down onto the ground (just don't throw it from the top). Belts, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves and grip shirts are allowed. Adaptive Athletes have 90 seconds to press all three implements. Adaptive standing one-armed will be pressing Circus Dumbbell only for reps. All other rules remain the same.
Carry medley - Athlete has 60 seconds to carry the yoke 40 feet, then carry the duck walk back 40 feet. Multiple drops allowed on both implements. If the athlete does not complete the medley, distance will be measured. Belts and grip shirts are allowed. Adaptive Athletes will have 90 seconds to complete the carry medley. All other rules remain the same.
Max silver dollar deadlift (using deadlift bar) - Bar will start at 225 lbs. Deadlift will be done auction-style with 3 attempts (Wessels rule) in 50-40 jumps. Competitor may jump in/out at any time to complete the three lifts, but is out when a lift is missed. Competitor will have 30 seconds to complete a lift and may strap in before the time starts. Judge will give a down command and rep will not count if athlete does not wait on the command. Bar sits at approximately 18". Belts and straps are allowed. Adaptive Athletes may have assistance strapping in for the deadlift, if needed.
Natural stones to platform - Athlete has 60 seconds to load 4 stones in ascending weight to a wall in descending height. Athlete must ensure each stone is stable atop the platform and does not fall. Time will be called when last stone is successfully loaded and athlete's hands are off. If athlete does not complete all stones in 60 seconds, last successful stone will be recorded for scoring. Chalk, sleeves (if there isn't any tacky on them) & grip shirts only. Guide(s) for Adaptive Athletes may assist in steadying the stone once the athlete has gotten it loaded to the platform. Adaptive Athletes have 90 seconds to complete the event. All other rules remain the same.
Devil's Hold - One vehicle will be parked at the top of a slight incline and will remain stationary, the other vehicle will be on a slight decline. Each vehicle will have a chain and a Dinnie ring attached. Athlete will stand in the middle of the vehicles and hold the rings as the vehicle on the decline is put into neutral. Athlete will hold as long as possible. Chalk only.
