We had so much fun last year, we’re bringing back the holiday feats of strength! A Very Strongman Christmas 2: Reindeer Gainz is coming to Steam Hollow Brewing in Manteno, IL December 9th. Four crazy Christmas events to test your strength and fill you with holiday cheer!

The Events:

Reindeer Gainz Viking Press

Sure, the reindeer are magic, but they still need a boost to fly. That’s where you come in. You’ll Viking Press those guys as many times as possible in 60 seconds. Handles will be 24” parallel/neutral grip, and you’ll be facing the implement.  Knee wraps, wrist wraps, and belts are fine. Strict press or push press only, no double dips.  Yes, it's the season of giving, but we're Grinchy on that one.

Mega Marshmallow Toss

Santa has a big job, so he needs a big cup of cocoa! Your job is to toss three giant marshmallow sandbags over the candy cane bar to get his mug filled with the sugar he needs to fuel his journey. Split times will be taken, you’ll have 60 seconds to get all three mega mallows over the 12-14 foot high bar.

Santa’s Sleigh Deadlift

The sleigh deadlift returns! Test out Santa’s sleigh on the deadlift frame with 14 inch front fixed bar pickup. Ho Ho Hold your deadlift until you get a down signal, and get as many reps as you can in 60 seconds. Straps are ok, no deadlift suits, hydraulics or ACME rockets of any kind.  Novice Women may be using a normal deadlift bar and plates, as the sleigh deadlift frame is around 325 empty.

Santa’s Giant Load

Santa has a lot to deliver and he needs your help! Frosty's head (Atlas stone), Santa's Big Bag (sandbag), a Giant Gift (box), and a Big Chunk of Coal (stone) will all need to be loaded.  Stones will be loaded onto 42" platforms, and the bag and box will be loaded over the 46" fireplace mantle. Split times taken. Grip shirts and chalk are ok, but tacky will put you on the naughty list.

Early weigh-ins will be available the night before competition at Steam Hollow from 4:30-5:30pm, or you can weigh in before competition time Saturday morning.

Get one more competition in this year before your 2023 USS membership expires!  This meet is USS sanctioned and is a qualifier for 2024 Nationals in majestically mountainous Denver, Colorado.

Parking is free and available in front of Steam Hollow and down the street.  Spectator admission is also free, so bring your friends and family to cheer everybody on. The Neighborhood Kitchen will be on hand, serving up their delicious American style egg rolls (Mac & cheese, Buffalo chicken, etc) and gourmet grilled cheese.

Steam Hollow is a veteran-owned and operated family-friendly microbrewery, and will have a number of beer and other beverage options available for purchase, including gluten free and gluten reduced options.
