The Events:
MAX AXLE CLEAN AND PRESS
- 3 attempts to find a max.
- Wessels rule/rising bar format. Once weight is added it will not come off.
- Athletes will have 30 seconds per attempt to clean the axle from the floor and press it overhead. Any type of clean is allowed, get it to your chest by any means necessary. Any type of press is allowed as long as it does not touch your head on the way up (no resting the axle on your head, this has happened before and is for your safety)
- Down command will be given by the judge upon locking out the elbows, head under the implement, hips in a straight ling with the legs and torso and feet square and not moving.
- Women will use an Apollon's axle starting at 83lbs with 10lb weight jumps. Men will be using a solid Bartos axle starting at 165 with 20lb jumps.
- Not allowed: elbow wraps or sleeves with buckles or straps, belt stacking (more than one hard and one soft belt), anything tacky/sticky (grip shirt, tacky, spray tacky, tacky towel, etc)
CARRY & DRAG MEDLEY
- 60 seconds to complete course. Fastest time wins.
- Athletes will start hands off. On command the athlete must pick up the Mouser Block & carry it 50ft uphill and deposit it on a crash pad under control. If the Block is not properly steadied on the crash mat, the athlete will have to fix it before he/she can continue onward.
- Next, athletes will run back downhill, grab the giant mining chains and drag them up the course. You must grab the end link, you can’t grab further in the chain to get more of it off the ground.
- Time stops when the very end of the chain crosses the finish line.
- Everyone will use a big block.
- Anyone who does not complete will be credited with distance.
- Not allowed: straps for the chains, belt stacking (more than 1 hard and one soft belt), anything tacky/sticky (grip shirt, tacky, spray tacky, tacky towel, etc)
ATLAS STONES OVER BAR
- An increasingly heavy series of atlas stones must be loaded over the bar (48? for men, 44? for women). Medleys will consist of traditional atlas stones as well as pumpkin shaped atlas stones of varying weights.
- Hands must start on the yoke. When loading the stone over the bar your hands cannot touch the yoke bar, they must remain on the stone until it is over the bar and falling.
- 60 second time limit. Fastest time wins. We will be taking split times on stones, split time will be taken when the stone lands on the ground on the other side. If the stone is free falling on the other side of the yoke with your hands off before the minute is up that will be considered a good lift.
- Equipment allowed: neoprene warm pants, sleeves, belt (one soft and one hard), tape (sticky side down), leather forearm gauntlets.
- Not allowed: belt stacking (more than 1 hard and one soft belt), anything tacky/sticky (grip shirt, tacky, spray tacky, tacky towel, etc), briefs
MOUSER SQUAT MACHINE FOR REPS
- Athletes will start under the squat bar, on the LIFT command, you will have 60 seconds to un-rack the bar and complete as many squat reps as possible.
- You will not have a start command, but you will have an up command every rep. You will squat down until the supports hit the floor on the side, stop, and wait for an up command.
- We will be measuring heights before the event starts, AKA powerlifting standard depth cause we ain't no high squatters over here!
- Equipment allowed: knee sleeves, neoprene warm pants (non rigid), chalk. You do not have to wear shoes but you do have to wear socks.
- Not allowed: knee wraps, deadlift or squat suits, rigid briefs, knee sleeves with tightening buckles/velcro straps, grip shirts
PUSH & PULL MEDLEY
- Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible alternating between a Circus Dumbbell Clean & Press and a Fat Grip Deadsled Deadlift.
- The CHOICE of which implement to begin with is UP TO YOU! Yes, YOU dear loyal lifter!
- Competitors will begin 3 feet behind the middle of the 2 implements. Upon the "Lift!" command time will start and you will go to whichever implement you want first.
- Deadlift must be lifted to complete lockout - extended knees, extended hips, shoulders locked. Competitor must receive "Down!" command, and follow bar to the ground. IF COMPETITOR DROPS THE BAR, THE REP IS NO GOOD!
- Circus DB Clean & Press must be lifted to the shoulder with either one or two hands. On the shoulder, the second hand must be completely removed before the start of the press. The press must reach full lockout, elbow extended, and controlled. Feet must come to a stop at shoulder width during the lockout at which point competitor will receive a "Down!" command. The Circus DB must be put on a crash pad after every "Down" command.
- Straps, elbow sleeves, belts, and wrist wraps are allowed.
