Event Rules:
Event | Event Rules Events 1 & 2 will be held simultaneously. Half of the athletes will complete Viking Press first before moving to Max Silver Dollar Deadlift. The other half will start with Max Silver Dollar Deadlift before moving to Viking press. |
Viking Press for Reps | Max reps in 60 seconds Athlete will face the implement and start with hands on viking press. Must be in a rack position (implement off ground) before starting press. Strict press, jerk press, push press are all allowed, including “double-dipping”. Must wait for a down command from the judge or rep will not count. Do not need to return implement to the ground between reps, but must return to the rack position each time. (ie. implement must be brought down below ear level.) You cannot bounce implement off the ground – so make sure your implement height is set correctly Gear allowed: wrist wraps, elbow/knee sleeves, belts, chalk, no tacky of any kind |
Max Silver Dollar Deadlift | All classes in each lane will compete together for this event and it will be a rising bar. Weights will be called out in increments (10-20# jumps) – those wanting to attempt the weight called will signal/line-up, if more than one athlete. Athlete is responsible to jump in at the weight called. The weight on the bar will NOT go down, if missed. 30 second time limit per lift attempt. May strap in before time starts. Only conventional stance is allowed. Straps and figure 8’s allowed, but hand must be around bar (not just fingertips with loose straps). Athlete must wait for down command from the judge or lift will not count. NO mid-lift bounce is allowed. Only your highest successful lift will count for score on the event. Each athlete will get 3 attempts. Once you fail a lift, you are done. If you fail to get a down command on any of your attempts, you will receive a zero for the event. Gear allowed: straps/figure 8’s, wrist wraps, elbow/knee sleeves, belts, chalk, no tacky of any kind, No suits or briefs |
Event | Event Rules These events will have 3 lanes |
Progressive Yoke Carry | Athlete will begin under yoke at starting weight listed for their class. Yoke will be carried 30ft until the full yoke has crossed the line (judge will announce when completely over line). Volunteers will add weight (50# increments for women; 90# increments for men) and the athlete must turn and carry the new weight 30ft back until the full yoke has crossed the line. Athlete has 25 seconds to complete each pass. This will continue until distance cannot be completed in allotted time or the athlete exceeds allowed drops (1 drop per weight allowed). Highest weight completed will be counted for score. Distance will not be taken. Athlete can choose to carry the yoke on their shoulders or zercher carry. Gear allowed: grip shirts, elbow/knee sleeves/wraps, belts, chalk, NO TACKY of ANY kind |
Sandbag/ Keg Carry & Load | 60 seconds time limit Three objects will be placed 15ft, 10ft, 5ft respectively away from a yoke and will be a mix of sandbags and kegs – may vary by class. Bar height will be 48” for women; 52” for men Athlete will have a hand on yoke at the start of time. Athlete must start with the object farthest from the yoke and will carry each object to the bar and load over the bar successfully before returning to do the same to the next object until all three objects are loaded or time runs out. Split times will be taken as each object is loaded and hits the ground. If time expires before the last implement touches the ground, that implement will not count, and you will receive credit/split time for the last successful implement, if any. If no successful implements over bar, you will receive a zero for the event. Distance will not be taken. Gear allowed: elbow/knee sleeves, chalk, wraps, belt, grip shirts, no tacky of any kind |
Natural Stone to Shoulder | 60 seconds time limit. Athletes will have the option of two natural stones to shoulder, one lighter, and one heavier. Athlete can switch between stones, but reps with the heavier stone will trump any reps with the lighter stone. Athlete will clean and shoulder a natural stone of set weight to one shoulder, hold briefly with one arm, then return the implement to the ground/mat for a successful rep. Athlete must wait for down command from the judge before returning the stone to the ground/mat. This will continue for 60 seconds. Throwing the stone over the shoulder does not count as a rep – must show control briefly on the shoulder and receive a down command from the judge. Gear allowed: grip shirts, elbow/knee sleeves, chalk, gloves, belt, wraps, no tacky of any kind |
