Novice, Open, Pro, Teen and Masters classes

One male and one female athlete winner of the pro class will earn a USS Pro status and eligibility to compete at Pro International Worlds 2023! Minimum prize money for pro class podium $2,000! $500 1st place, $300 2nd place, $200 3rd place men and women.

Event 1- Press Medley

Athlete starts standing 6 feet behind implements. Athlete may press implements in any order but must press both at least once before choosing which one to press away for reps. 60 seconds to complete. Equipment allowed: Grip shirts, belts, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, knee sleeves, chalk. Not allowed: built up belts, tacky towels, tacky, tacky spray.

Event 2- Sandbag/ Slamball to Shoulder 

From the floor. Lift and hold on the shoulder demonstrating control and wait for judge “down” command. Max reps wins. Grip shirt, belts, wrist wraps, knee and elbow sleeves allowed. No tacky allowed. 60 seconds.
 

Event 3- Farmers Hold for Time

Hold a pair of farmers handles for max time. Athlete picks up both handles from the ground and stands upright. Time starts when athlete is fully standing with weight. Belts, wrist and knee sleeves allowed. No straps or tacky products allowed. 

Event 4- Yoke, Sandbag Run and Load. 
 

Carry the yoke 50’, sprint back, pick up sandbag from the ground and run 50’, bag over bar once. 75 Seconds. Grip shirts, belts, elbow &  knee sleeves, chalk allowed. No tacky products.

Event 5- Deadlift for Reps

Top 5 athletes from each weight class (excluding Pro class). Deadlift bar. Down command only. Straps, belts, chalk, baby powder (legs only) allowed. No tacky products, no baby oil. No suits. 60 seconds. 

All contest details, events and weights are promoter discretion and subject to change. 
 

Pro Class rules

Pro classes must have minimum 6 athletes to qualify an athlete as a USS pro. The winning athlete must not have zeroed any event to earn the status and invite, but can still win the cash prize and a nationals invite.
