Brooke’s Battle is a strongman competition being held on October 29th, 2022 at Tyranena Brewing Company in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. The competition will be a fundraiser for our dear 6 month old daughter, Brooke, who is currently battling Familial HLH. This illness is extremely rare and if left untreated is fatal. She is currently going through chemotherapy and awaiting a bone marrow transplant. Brooke’s Battle is not just your regular strongman contest but a contest for a cause. Weight class information:
Athletes will compete in a LW/HW format for open competitors. LW and MW will be combined as well as HW and SHW classes with the cut offs being 165lbs for women and 220 for men. If an athlete is wanting to qualify for nationals as a LW or HW, they must weigh in under the cut off for those classes.
Pro class information:
Winner will achieve Pro Status in USS and be invited to USS 2023 Pro International. Cash prizes to be announced.
Event Rules
Event 1: Truck pull
Athlete will pull a truck via harness with a rope for assistance over a 50’ course. A time will be taken when the front tires cross the line or a distance will be taken if the course is not completed. 60 second time limit to complete the course.
Equipment not allowed: Tacky of any kind on the hands
Equipment allowed: Almost anything not listed above
Event 2: OHP medley
Athletes must go in order of implements from light to heavy (keg, axle, log). The log will be for reps and you must clean each rep. Athletes may begin with hands on the keg but it cannot leave the ground until you get the start command. Athletes must wait for down command with elbows locked out overhead and feet together. You may press the implements however you choose. Dropping from lockout will be a zero rep. You must wear the contest shirt so the shirt is visible. Axle may rest on your belt. Athletes will have 60 seconds to get as many reps as possible. Men will use 12”, women will use 10”

Event 3: Car deadlift
Athletes may strap in before the start command and must wait locked for the down command. Touch and go reps are allowed as there is no up command. Athletes will have 60 seconds to get as many reps as possible.

Event 4: Yoke and Keg carry & load
Athletes will carry the yoke on their back until the front of the yoke breaks the 50’ line, then run back and carry the keg to load over their yoke.

Event 5: Sandbag toss
Athletes will have 60 seconds to throw all 4 bags over the bar. Bags will be lined up 15’ from the bar. Athletes will start with one hand touching the uprights. Bags must be thrown from lightest to heaviest. Athletes can only carry one bag at a time if backing up to throw closer the apparatus. If a bag is missed, athletes must grab the bag themselves and continue on the correct side of the apparatus. If a bag is thrown to the side of the bar, it is the judges discretion if the bag would have cleared the bar so don’t miss the bar and it won’t be an issue. Time stops when the last bag breaks the vertical plane of the bar determined by your judge’s discretion.

This is an exhibition event open to competitors and non competitors (non-competitors will have to sign a waiver). Starting weight will be 55lbs and go up by 10lbs, you have 60 seconds to complete your attempt.
