Carol of the Kettlebells 2

We're back for another holiday season competition!  Get in the holiday spirit and put that winter bulk to good use by lifting some heavy weights at CrossFit Acadia in Ellsworth Maine!

This year we will be raising money ey for Downeast Community Partners THAW program to help families stay warm this winter with heating assistance!  The Spectator's fee will be a $10 donation.  

There will be prizes for first, second, and third place winners in each class!

Sandbag overhead rules:
Sandbag must be cleaned and pressed every rep.  Athlete will start with hand off the bag and when given the go command will have 60 seconds to clean and overhead press for as many reps as possible.  Athlete must wait for the down command before dropping the bag.  You may drop the bag from overhead.  Chalk, wrist wraps, and belts allowed.  No tacky of any kind allowed.

Deadlift for reps rules:
Athlete may start with hands on the bar.  Athlete will be asked if ready.  On the go command, you will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible.  Athlete must wait for the down command before returning weight to the ground and be given an up command before moving on to the next rep.  If athlete drops the weight from the top, that rep will not be counted.  You must control the weight all the way to the ground.  Straps, chalk, and 2 belts (one hard one soft) allowed.  No tacky or sticky stuff of any sort allowed.

Sled pull rules:
This is a harness pull event.  Athletes will pull the sled 50 feet as fast as possible.  If athlete does not complete the pull, the distance will determine the score.  Chalk and belts allowed.  No tacky of any kind!

Sandbag carry rules:
Athlete will pick up and carry a sandbag for distance.   Athlete will be given a go command and will pick the bag up and move it up and down their lane. The lanes will be 50ft long.  1 drop allowed.  On the second drop, time stops.  Belts and chalk allowed.  No tacky.

Carol of the Kettlebells is a kettlebell hold for time.  Athlete will have their back to the wall and hold a kettlebell out in front of them.  The upper back and buttocks must stay against the wall for the entire time.  If the athlete's arms start to drop or rise, time stops.  Judges will give one warning to the athlete if they notice your arms start to move.  There will be no warning for your back coming off the wall.  If your back or bottom lose contact with the wall, your time ends.  Chalk and wrist wraps allowed.  No straps or tacky of any kind.
