This is a novice event focused on the experience of strongman competitions for first time competitors while bringing in the fun of team competition.

Sandbag carry will be for distance. The Athlete will walk the track till they drop the weight. The total distance will be the score. The sandbag shall be carried on the front of the body, do not shoulder the sandbag. The track will be 100' with markers every 10', a dropped sandbag will be scarred at the last marker passed. Allowed: knee sleeves, belts, under belts, wrist wraps, and chalk. Not Allowed: grip shirts, any form of tacky or adhesives or gloves. 

Axle clean and press will be cleaned and pressed for each repetition. Athletes will lift for as many repetitions as possible in 60 second. Each repetition will be complete when the referee gives the down command. Guide the implement to the ground, repetitions not guided will be forfeit. Allowed: knee sleeves, belts, under belts, wrist wraps, and chalk. Not Allowed: grip shirts, straps, any form of tacky or adhesives or gloves. 

Deadlift will be done in an ascending weight with starting weight attempts. Each athlete will have 3 attempts however the weight will not go down. A referee will call out the weight on the bar and athletes will line up for the called weight. If an attempt is failed, you may retake the weight after other athletes have gone for that weight. If this means you follow yourself then a 1-minute rest period will be allowed (for the sake of time management) before the next attempt. Heaviest weight lifted successfully will be the final score. The bar must be guided back to the floor, dropped weights will be a forfeited lift. Required: Straps. Allowed: knee sleeves, belts, under belts, chalk. Not Allowed: grip shirts, suits, briefs, any form of tacky or adhesives, wrist wraps, and gloves. 

Yoke Walk to Sandbag Load will be completed with a 60 second time cap. All implements will be set at start locations (30' yoke, 20' sandbag, 10' sandbag) and athletes will take the front of the yoke implement past the end line and return to each sandbag to load it over the yoke. Bar height is selected by each athlete at check-in. Athletes will be given the command "Athlete ready, Set, GO!" to begin the timer and event. The crossmember of each yoke will have cloth tape applied for added traction for safety to the athlete and protection of the implement. Allowed: knee sleeves, belts, under belts, wrist wraps, and chalk. Not Allowed: grip shirts, straps, any form of tacky or adhesives or gloves. 

Atlas stone over bar will be completed by as many repetitions as possible in 60 second. Women's divisions will load the stones over a 48" bar, men's divisions will load the stones over a 52" bar. Loaders will return the stone to the start position after every repetition. Allowed: knee sleeves, belts, under belts, wrist wraps, chalk, and tacky towels. Not Allowed: grip shirts, tacky or adhesives besides tacky towels or gloves. Baby oil will be provided at a cleaning station outside to remove any extra tacky residue, please share and help everyone clean up and be respectful to the space provided.

Adaptive divisions will be modified as needed for athletes, please send the meet director an email detailing your personal information and specifics to help determine the modifications to be implemented.

Timeframe of the event:

   7am-830am: Check in and weigh ins. (same day weigh ins only)

   830am: Athlete briefing.

   9am: Sandbag Carry.

   10am: Axle Clean and Press.

   11am: Max Deadlift.

   12pm: Lunch break.

   1230pm: Yoke Walk to Sandbag Load.

   130pm: Atlas Stone Over Bar.

   3pm: Awards. 

Parking will be across the street (map will be included on the Instagram page). Spectators will be along the back fence (canopies allowed and please be friendly, share the space. Chairs will not be provided, please bring drinks and food for yourself. There is a gas station within walking distance). Competitors will use the designated space during events. There are two bathrooms so please make space for the athletes and referees if they need to use the restroom. Inside seating is available for children and adults needing additional shade and cooling, it will be hot.

Awards and prizes for first, second and third place. (Still seeking additional sponsors).

@centralcaliforniastrongmanclub will have updated, demonstration videos for the events and a map of the parking and event space will be posted.
