The Douglas County Tigers will face off against the Chapel Hill Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Douglas County has three straight victories, Chapel Hill has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Douglas County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Westlake last Friday as they made off with a 45-20 win. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Lions are ranked 58th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in MIKE JOHNSON and Cannon Robinson. JOHNSON had a great game and threw for 225 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes. Meanwhile, Robinson was balling out in the loss, throwing for 253 yards and one touchdown, while also punching in one rushing score.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Douglas County's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Westlake's side was Richard Dice, who forced one fumble and made 15 total tackles.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Chapel Hill duked it out with Westlake on Friday. The Panthers were outmatched by the Lions and fell 41-10. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-7.

Chapel Hill's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Douglas County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Douglas County against Chapel Hill in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-0 win. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
