RULES

Log Ladder:

  • Athlete has 90 seconds to complete a log ladder consisting of 6 logs (Press in ascending order).
  • All classes are offered the same weights for their gender. Yes that means novice or lighter classes may only get to 3-4 logs and HW/SHW classes should complete all 6 logs.
  • This event is scored using the heaviest log lifted and time.
  • All reps MUST be controlled down to the ground. No tree topping or letting implement drop from overhead or you will receive a 0 for the event
  • Women will be pressing 8", 10" and 12” logs and men will be pressing 10", 12" and 15” logs.
  • No I will not share the make, model, paint type of each log with you :)
  • Allowed: wrist wraps, sleeves, grip shirts, belts (must be turned around if they have a metal clasp so as to not ruin the implements), chalk
  • Not Allowed: grip shirts from any other federation, liquid chalk, tacky, tacky towels, tree topping from above, resting on head

For all women's class log options: 75#, 100#, 125#, 150#, 175#, 200#

For all men's class log options: 175#, 200#, 225#, 250#, 275#, 300#, 325#

(novice and LWM begin at 175#, all other mens classes must begin at 200#).

Ukrainian Deadlift

  • Athlete will start standing with each foot on a platform (height of 13.25") with both hands on the handle (20" from floor)
  • Monster pin (implement being used) has a handle which is 20" from floor (see FB event page and IG promoter page posts)
  • You will have 60 seconds to deadlift the weight from floor to lockout as many times as possible
  • A completed rep will be given when the weight has been to lockout and the judge gives the down command.
  • Athlete will get a down command when ankles, knees, hips are all locked out and shoulders are back.
  • Athletes may not bounce implement off the ground between reps.  Athlete will be given one warning and then if it happens again reps will not count.
  • A zero will be given if weight is dropped. Control the down.
  • Allowed: Chalk, wrist wraps, sleeves, belts, gloves and grip shirts OK (no SC/OSG shirts)
  • Not Allowed: NO Tacky, no liquid chalk, no deadlift/squat suits/briefs, no straps of any kind will be allowed. DOUBLE OVERHAND ONLY

Head to Head Stone to Shoulder:

  • The whole class will line up in the same order that is listed on iron podium and each athlete will attempt to lift the stone to their shoulder (20 seconds allotted to complete the rep).
  • Stone must be cleaned to the shoulder with opposite arm extended for the rep to count.
  • Athletes must maintain control of the atlas stone at the top to receive a down command.
  • Once an athlete fails, they are out.
  • Allowed :Wrist/Knee wraps, belts, chalk, grip shirts. Stone sleeves, tacky towels.
  • Not Allowed: Grip shirts from any other federation, liquid chalk, tacky.

Seated Vertical Flag Hoist :

*weights were adjusted  (lowered) in July as the apparatus changed from a pulley system to a rope over bar system which makes the movement more difficult due to friction. This information was emailed to all registered athletes

  • Athlete will be seated during this event and a lap belt will be utilized to assist in maintaining contact with the floor. An assist will latch the belt but the athlete will be responsible for tightening the belt to their own comfort level
  • Your body must not leave the ground at any point in time. The athlete will utilize a rope and will attempt to pull the weight to the top as fast as possible.
  • Athlete will have 60 sec. to raise the weight to the top and lower the weight back down. Control the descent (first time will receive a warning, subsequent times will receive a zero). This is scored via reps.
  • Allowed: belts, wrist wraps, knee and elbow sleeves, chalk, gloves.
  • Not allowed: tacky, tacky towels, liquid chalk, dropping weight from the top

Car Press

  • Athlete will be pressing a car (yes you read that correctly)
  • Athlete will face toward the vehicle and press with a neutral grip utilizing handles that are attached to the platform (similar to a viking press).
  • A good rep, will have the athlete's arms fully extended above their head, elbows locked, head through, hips through and knees locked. Feet need to be in line with one another so if the athlete is split jerking, they must return their feet to being in line.
  • Allowed: wrist wraps, sleeves, belts, chalk, grip shirts
  • Not allowed: gloves, liquid chalk, tacky, tacky towels, straps, grip shirts from any other federation

*Weights and rules are subject to change (all athletes will be notified via email in addition to social media posts).
