Event Testing

Description of Events
The plan is to order the events on the day of the competition as they are ordered here, and we will do our best to avoid having to change that order. That said, we do reserve the right to change the order of events as necessary.
Event 1: Max Axle Clean and Press
Wessels rules will apply. Athletes will have 40 seconds per attempt, time will start as soon as the platform is prepared and the judge gives the start command. The athletes are welcome to take as many attempts as they’d like in their 40 seconds. Only 3 attempts will be allowed. If you miss an attempt, you may not attempt a heavier weight.
Men will use a fixed axle on tires. The implement will start at 155lbs and we will make 10lb jumps.
Women will use a fixed axle on tires. The implement will start at ~75lbs and we will make 10lb jumps.
Belt cleans are acceptable. The Judges will issue a down command at their discretion upon complete lockout of the implement. If there is no down command from the judge, you will not be awarded the rep. Strict press technique, push press technique, and any form of jerk technique will all be acceptable.
Sleeves and wraps of any kind are acceptable. Chalk only. Grip shirts are allowed. Belts of any kind are acceptable.
Event 2: Deadlift Ladder
The deadlift ladder will require 3 deadlifts to complete, all with different bars at different heights.
Deadlift 1: Deficit Deadlift from a 3” Deficit with Deadlift Bar
Deadlift 2: Deadlift from the ground with a Power Bar
Deadlift 3: Axle Deadlift off of Wagon Wheels
Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete the ladder. They must go in the order above. Once the athlete reaches the third deadlift they will pull for max reps. 1 point will be awarded for every successful deadlift.
Down commands will be given on all deadlifts, and the judges will be seated opposite the athlete at the end of the ladder. The athletes will have an opportunity to strap into the first bar before starting their run should they choose to. No deadlift suits or wraps will be allowed. Sleeves of any kind are allowed. Straps of any kind are allowed. Chalk only.
Event 3: Arm-Over-Arm Truck Pull
Athletes will pull a vehicle 50 feet. The athlete will start with slack in the rope, but they may have 2 hands on it to start. Time will start on the judge’s call.
60-second time limit. Gloves are allowed for this event. Sleeves of any kind are allowed. Chalk only.
The implement is currently under design. Specific details regarding the vehicle and where the athletes will pull from will be released as the information becomes available. Please follow @atrtrainingsystems for the most timely updates.
Event 4: Wheelbarrow Medley
The athlete will start 5 feet from the implement behind a starting line. On the judge’s command, they will proceed to the medley.
The finish line will be 60 feet from the starting line. Three kegs will be on the course. One placed 15 feet from the starting line, one 30 feet from the starting line, and the last 45 feet from the starting line. Athletes will receive one point for each of the following:
Loading one keg onto the wheelbarrow successfully. 3 points are possible.
Crossing the finish line with one keg on the Wheelbarrow. 3 points are possible.
Getting the wheelbarrow across the finish line. 1 point is possible.
A perfect run will be 7 points, and a time will be awarded.
Note that if you load a keg onto the wheelbarrow and it falls off before crossing the finish line, you will receive points for loading it, but not for crossing the finish line with it. Note further that if you load the wheelbarrow with all three kegs but fail to cross the finish line in time, you will receive points for the loading, but not for crossing the finish line with the kegs or the wheelbarrow.
Athletes will have 90 seconds to complete their run. No straps will be allowed. Sleeves of any kind are allowed. Chalk only. No gloves will be allowed.
Event 5: Stone Series
Stones will be loaded over a bar. Heights will be ~48” for women and ~52” for men. A rep is considered complete when the stone hits the ground on the other side of the bar.
Athletes will have 60 seconds to perform their run. The stones must be loaded incrementally by weight. The final stone will be loaded for max reps.
The athletes will not be allowed to use the bar to assist in the loading of the stone. Inadvertent touches are acceptable.
Any non-SC shirts will be allowable for this event. Whatever you wear is likely to have tacky on it by the end of the event, so it is advisable that you bring a shirt to wear for the event that you don’t mind getting permanently dirty.
Please note that the stone weights are estimates, and may not be the exact weight of the stones that you see in competition. Any deviation from the posted weights will be minor, but deviations may occur.
Please be considerate with your tacky. We will provide a modest cleaning station but it is recommended that you bring your own supplies.
Tie Breakers
A tiebreaker will only be held to settle ties for 1st and 2nd, and should it become necessary it will be announced on the day of the show.
