De La Salle is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 35 points on October 3rd, they were much more limited against Amador Valley on Friday. They were dealt a 56-13 loss at the hands of the Dons. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Spartans came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Dons are ranked 219th).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, San Ramon Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 33-14 bruising from California.

De La Salle will have to contain Cole Dawes as he made an impact in San Ramon Valley's last game. He threw for 168 yards and two TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes.

San Ramon Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for De La Salle, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. De La Salle has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 224.6 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for San Ramon Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 92.9 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Everything came up roses for De La Salle against San Ramon Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
