Competitor Event Information Scottish Strongman 

Admission / Parking: Parking is at the yellow gate for competitors. As a competitor you will be able to enter the highland games on Saturday for free since you will be competing. Family, friends, or spectators will have to pay to enter the highland games. Any issues call 907-687-5522.

Event location: If you haven’t been to the highland games before. It is held at the Alaska State Fairgrounds in Palmer Alaska. It will be held at the Scottish strength field.

Enter time: The Highland games are over two days Saturday & Sunday. Both days the purple gate opens at 8am. The Scottish strongman is held on Sunday June 30 at 10am. 

Event: Denali Stone Challenge 

Stone 1 weighs: 480

Stone 2 weighs: 360

Each Athlete will get one attempt to try and lift the Denali Stones. 

If you have ever heard of the "The Dinnie Stones"? Then you'll want to try these out. The stones begin on the ground. The Athlete then grips the handles either placing one on the right and one on the left side of the body, or they may place one in front and one behind the body. Athlete will pick the implements up vertically. For a successful lift, The athlete must be standing and showing full locked out in the upper and lower body. The implements need to be entirely lifted from the ground. Once the athlete lifts the stone by the handles and is standing fully locked out then the down command will be given and the athlete will have a successful lift. you only need to lift the stones once to complete the challenge. 

Equipment Allowed: Chalk (magnesium carbonate), Lifting belts including nylon, powerlifting, Olympic or similar, Built up belts (one soft belt & one hard belt), knee sleeves, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves

Equipment NOT Allowed: Tacky of any sort including tacky towels, lifting straps (of any kind), liquid chalk, Elbow or Knee wraps.
