General Info:

Team Bernhardt is excited to announce Der Grosse Bären Kampf (The Big Bear Fight) 2023 Second Annual Strongman Competition. This year the event is USS Sanctioned and includes categories to allow more athletes, including youth athletes, to compete. This link is for teens, open, and masters. Events:

Keg Press Ladder

Athletes will press 4 Kegs ascending from Lightest to Heaviest as Fast as Possible. 

Grip shirts, wrist wraps, gloves, belts, and arm sleeves allowed. No tacky

WillDevelopment Power Stairs

Athletes will lift 1 loaded peg up 3 steps, implement and athlete must fully land on top step, then athlete will go backwards back down the steps as Fast as Possible. Athletes will be on opposite sides of the stairs facing each other. Weight and style of pegs will be announced on competition day!

Belts and wrist wraps allowed. No straps, tacky, deadlift briefs or suits, or gloves allowed. 

Odd Object Carry Medley

Athletes will carry 4 Odd Objects for distance each in the sand as Fast as Possible. Implements must be placed fully across the line, no throwing. Distance varies per division.

*All Women’s classes: 75lb Soft Stone, 90lb Brake Drum, 120lb Stone Slab, 180lb Fire Hydrant

*All Men’s classes: 90lb Brake Drum, 140lb Stone Slab, 150lb Soft Stone, 220lb Fire Hydrant

Socks and shoes are optional (decide at your own risk). Sand socks, gloves, grip shirts, belts, wrist wraps allowed. No straps or tacky.

Basket Deadlift

Athletes will deadlift the loaded basket as many times as possible in 60sec. Weight will be added to the basket each repetition. The first 4 jumps will be 25lbs. Each jump after that will be 15lbs. Up to 250lbs will be added. Athletes who reach max weight will continue to pull for reps for the remaining 60sec. Weight listed is the starting weight for that division.

Straps, wrist wraps, and belts allowed. No deadlift briefs or suits allowed. No tacky 

UPS Flame Truck Pull

Men will pull the truck Arm Over Arm from a truck pull platform. Women will pull the truck in a harness with a rope. Distance 50ft with 60sec time limit.

Gloves, belts, and wrist wraps allowed. No deadlift briefs or suits. No tacky

Tie Breaker (if needed)

Short Steel Bending. Bar size will be based on athletes needing tie breaker for podium positions. Fastest full bend or deepest bend in 30sec wins. 

Wrist wraps allowed. No gloves

Weight Classes:

Following USS Sanctioned Weight Class Categories. 40+ masters should register for single master's division. Weigh-Ins required for all athletes. Divisions may be condensed per hosts discretion. 

Event Location:

Victoria Beach at Lake Allatoona Woodstock, GA 30189

Will be in the parking lot. $5 GA Park Authority Fee at the gate. Restrooms available. Event is completely outdoors in the parking lot and on the beach.

Membership:

USS Membership Required. Must have valid registration by competition date.

Friday October 27th @ Team Bernhardt Strongman Training Facility 10am-12pm or 4pm-7pm
