Der Grosse Bären Kampf (The Big Bear Fight) 2024 Strongman Competition

Team Bernhardt is excited to announce Der Grosse Bären Kampf (The Big Bear Fight) 2024 Third Annual Strongman Competition. This is a USS Sanctioned event and includes categories to allow more athletes, including youth athletes, to compete. This link is for teens, open, and masters. If you are looking for the youth signup, please select the contest name including "Tiny Bears." This competition is a fundraising event. Please share and spread awareness of the nonprofit we are supporting.
Events:
Axle & Log Press Medley
Athletes will press each implement, back and forth, for 60 seconds. Athletes must start with the axle before moving on to the log. Athlete must receive down command before moving to the other implement. Grip shirt, wrist wraps, elbow/knee sleeves allowed. No tacky of any kind, and no straps.
Sandbag Throw for Distance
Athletes will have 3 attempts to throw their sandbag as far as possible. There will be a line to throw from. Athletes will not be allowed to cross that line, or their attempt will not count. The event will take place in the sand on the beach.
Sand Drag

Sandbag Carry
Athletes will carry 2 sandbags 25' in the sand for fastest time in 60 seconds. Distance will be measured for athletes who do not complete both carries in 60 seconds. Sandbags must start upright and be placed fully across the line on the other side. This event will take place in the sand on the beach. Grip shirt and arm sleeves allowed. No gloves or tacky of any kind.
UPS Truck Pull
Men will pull arm over arm while seated on a platform and women will pull with a harness and rope for approximately 50'. Athletes will have 60 seconds to cross the line or get as far as possible.
Weight Classes:
Following USS Sanctioned Weight Class Categories. 40+ masters should register for single master's division. Weigh-Ins required for all athletes. Divisions may be condensed per hosts discretion.
Event Location:
Victoria Beach at Lake Allatoona Woodstock, GA 30189
Will be in the parking lot. $5 GA Park Authority Fee at the gate. Restrooms available. Event is completely outdoors in the parking lot and on the beach.
Membership:
USS Membership Required. Must have valid registration by competition date.
Weigh-Ins:
Friday October 25th @ Team Bernhardt Strongman Training Facility 10am-12pm or 4pm-7pm

Athletes who cannot make Friday's weigh-in must contact competition directors. Limited weigh-ins day of. If you do not check-in on Friday and haven't contacted the directors for Saturday weigh-in, you will be considered a no-show and WILL NOT be allowed check-in Saturday and compete. Please follow the rules for weigh-ins.
