EVENT DESCRIPTIONS (Actively being updated, stay tuned for full event descriptions):

Circus Dumbbell Press (reps): Each team will have 120 seconds to lift a circus dumbbell from ground to overhead as many times as possible. Partners must alternate lifting their circus dumbbells rep-for-rep. Only one partner can lift their implement at a time. To start, team members will be position behind and NOT touching their respective circus dumbbells. Upon the event judge's start command, a designated partner will then lift their circus dumbbell from the ground to their shoulders, where they will then overhead press from the front rack position. The circus dumbbell must be in the front rack position before it goes overhead--no snatches are allowed for this event! The competitor can use either strict press, push press, or push jerk techniques to lift the circus dumbbell overhead--for safety, no split jerks are allowed for this event. The circus dumbbell must touch the competitor's upper torso (i.e.- upper chest/shoulders) and come to a complete controlled stop overhead for each movement to be successfully completed. For an individual repetition to be considered successfully completed, the following must be conducted by each competitor: the competitor must be standing completely upright, with non-lifting arm positioned outward and away from touching the implement, as well as the lifting arm being fully extended in the overhead position, with the weight being directly over the midline of the competitor. Control must be demonstrated at the top of the lift before returning the circus dumbbell to the ground; which a successfully completed repetition will be noted by the event judge giving the competitor the down command. Competitors are allowed to drop the circus dumbbell from any position of the lift onto their designated drop pad, in a controlled bail forward of the competitor's midline; their partner may then ground-to-shoulder lift their circus dumbbell to conduct the next attempt/rep. The max number of successfully completed reps within the allotted time cap will serve as the team's overall score. Competitors may not assist each other lifting their respective implements. See above for approved competitor equipment details.

  • Each competitor will have 60 secs per attempt
  • Competitors may setup and grip the bar prior to attempt

Sandbag Over Post (reps): Each team will have 60 seconds to lift and load two sandbags over a 48" tall hitching post as many times as possible. To begin, each partner will be standing on the same side AND be touching the hitching post. When given the start command by the event judge, both partners will be able to begin the event. Competitors can use any front loading technique to move their sandbag over the hitching post. Competitors may place, lean into, and/or position under/behind their sandbag to load the implement over the hitching post--AT NO POINT will competitors be allowed to used the hitching post in any way to create leverage to load the sandbag (i.e.-grabbing, pulling, wrapping around, etc.). Both sandbags must make it over the hitching post and land on the opposing side from which it was loaded from to count as completed reps. Once both sandbags are over to the other side of the hitching post, both partners will be able to run around and load their respective sandbag over the hitching post from the opposing side. The max number of successfully completed reps within the allotted time cap will serve as the team's score. Competitors may not assist each other lifting and/or loading their respective sandbags. See above for approved competitor equipment details.

Hammer Hold (max time): Based on Rogue Record Breakers standards, each competitor will hold a 20-pound hammer with both hands in the front hold for max time. Weight begins with the hands at waist level. Competitors must position themselves so that their glutes, back and head are against a vertical wall or upright, with the heels of the feet no more than 8 inches from the wall/upright. Competitors must lift the weight into the hold position without assistance. The timer may begin once the weight is in the approved holding position. This is a traditional strongman style forward hold, with the arms held perpendicular to the body and the elbows fully extended throughout the hold. Hands can be positioned any direction on the implement. Weight may only be supported with the hands. Body may or may not be locked out. The top edge of the weight must remain between the competitor’s chin and crown of the head. The hold is over when the top edge of the implement moves lower than the chin or higher than the crown. Bending of the elbows in order to gain an advantage will result in the termination of the hold. The competitor will get ONLY 1 warning to make corrective adjustments from the event judge; any additional infractions will result in the termination of the hold. See above for approved competitor equipment details.

Team Tire Flip (reps): Each team will work IN UNISON to flip a tire as many times as possible within 60 seconds. The tire must stand upright during the middle of the lift, land on the opposite side than it started, and come to a complete stop for the movement to be complete. The tire must be laying flat on the ground before the next rep is attempted. The max number of successfully completed reps within the allotted time cap will serve as the team's score.
