The Grimsley Whirlies will take on the Dudley Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.On Friday, Oct. 24, Grimsley High School will host Dudley High School, which is set to start at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Grimsley is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Page: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Whirlies blew the Pirates out of the water with a 48-14 final score. Considering the Whirlies have won five games by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Dudley waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 54-0 win over the Cowboys. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Grimsley better focus on containing Brayden Jeffries and Michael Boone Jr. as the pair were huge in Dudley's win. Jeffries rushed for 72 yards and two scores, while Boone Jr. rushed for 108 yards and one TD on only six carries. Jeffries' passing game has become a key predictor of Dudley's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Che'Kai Hicks also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Dudley proved: they limited Southwest Guilford to a paltry -0.6 yards per carry. While two picked up at least seven total tackles, Devin Cotton stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks and made seven total tackles (5.0 for loss). Dudley didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.4.

Dudley's defense didn't let Emmanuel Martin, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Cotton and Saimir Horton, who racked up all four sacks between them. Cotton is crushing it when it comes to sacks: he's posted at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Grimsley's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Dudley, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Grimsley was dealt a bruising 47-0 loss at the hands of Dudley in their previous matchup back in October of 2016. Can the Whirlies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
