IT CAN BE HARD BEING A MAN IN TODAYS WORLD AND SOMETIMES EVEN HARDER BEING A DAD. TAKE IT FROM ME A FATHER OF 3.  SO MUCH IS EXPECTED OF US.  TAKES A LOT OF MENTAL STRENGTH AND WILL POWER.  JUST LIKE THOSE WHO COMPETE IN THE SPORT OF STRONGMAN.  THATS WHY I AM BEGUN THE MAKINGS OF FLORIDA'S STRONGEST DAD!  WHERE WE WILL FIND OUT WHICH ONE OF US SUPERHERO'S ALSO HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO WIN AND CLAIM THE TITLE FLORIDA'S STRONGEST DAD!!

Welcome DAD’s, family, friends, vendors, sponsors, helpers, and spectators to the

1st ANNUAL FLORIDAS STRONGEST DAD 2024!

We are extremely excited to have everyone visit the beautiful Sunshine State of Florida in the coziest county in the state, Pinellas County where we will see who has what it takes to claim the title Florida’s Strongest Dad. There will be more details and information added and updated here on this Iron Podium page as we go.

SPECTATOR ADMISSION:

FREE FOR MOM’s

Spectator fee: $10 for adults

                        $5 for children 6 & over

                        Free for children under 6

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:

All entries must be submitted by June 9th, 2024, at 11:59PM. Iron Podium is the only form of entry. Order of entry does matter. No refunds will be issued.

EVENT RULES:  *Subject to change - all current information listed here & updated if there are changes.

FOR ALL EVENTS:

1. Competition shirt or MUST be worn (EXCEPT for Press Medley)
2. No bare feet (must have at least socks on)
3. No tacky or sticky substance
4. No gloves
5. No build up belts (only one hard and one soft)
6. NO SUITS OR BRIEFS ALLOWED!
7. Any athlete who leaks any body fluids (blood, urine, vomit, etc.) on the competition field must help clean it up.

MEDALS/TROPHIES + GIFTS TO TOP 3 PODIUM FINISHERS

EVENT 1: HAMMER HOLD

Time: No Time Limit

Scoring: Longest Held

1. Athletes will begin back against wall, feet no more than 12in away from wall.  (it will be marked).
2. Hammer will be on crash pad athlete will pick it up and once the lock out is made with both arms straight in front of you and parallel to the ground time will start.
3. Once plane is broken time will stop.  Longest time held wins.
4. All supportive gear allowed

EVENT 2: SCHOOL BUS PULL

Time: 60sec.

Scoring: FASTEST TIME

1. Athlete will begin with harness in front of bus.
2. There will be guide rope in hand for athlete.
3. When judge says go, athlete will attempt to pull school bus across the finish line.
4. Front tire must touch line.
5. Distance is 50ft.
6. All supporting gear allowed unless mentioned above!

EVENT 3: DUNE BUGGY DEADLIFT

Time: 60sec.

Scoring: MOST REPS

1. Athletes will begin in the center of the platform.
2. Athletes can start strapped in.
3. When the judge says go athlete will lift farmers style or also known as neutral grip and begin to lift.
4. This event is for reps you must get down command after every Rep.
5. All supporting gear allowed unless mentioned above!

EVENT 4: SAVE THE CHILD CARRY & PRESS MEDLEY (Log, Sandbag, Keg)

            *(pressing objects subject to change)

            *(10IN LOG FOR NOVICE & ADAPTIVE) 60LB EMPTY

            *(12IN LOG FOR ALL OPEN CLASSES AND MASTERS) 90LBS EMPTY

Time: 60sec.

Scoring: FASTEST TIME

1. Athlete will begin 5 feet behind the first object.
2. When the judge says go athlete will run up to the first object which will be a log and they will pick up and carry 10ft then clean and press the log 1x.
3. Once down command is given athlete will then run to save the second child and pick up and carry the sandbag 10ft then clean and press sandbag 1x.
4. Once athlete receives down command athlete will then run to the final child to be saved and pick up and carry the keg 10ft then clean and press the keg 1x.
5. Once athlete receives the down command the keg must be upright before time can stop!
6. All supporting gear allowed unless mentioned above!

MOST EVENTS ARE MEDLEYS BECAUSE A DADS IS ALWAYS DOING MULTIPLE THINGS AT ONCE!
