Georgia's Strongest Man - Scott Helm's Memorial

$100

Columbus, GA

Georgia's Strongest Man is back after a 1 year hiatus. This is a storied event that has seen many amateurs who have gone on to great heights from America's Strongest Man champions, OSG and Professional Strongman League podium finishes and even Giants Live competitors. This year we carry on that tradition while honoring our own Scott Helm's Memorial down in Columbus Georgia!  We're looking to make it even bigger this year with more sponsors, help and hopefully prizes / cash for our competitors.

PRIZES:

BEST COMPETITOR - Our judges, loaders and promoters will pick 1 man and 1 woman to be the Best Competitor and Each of these winners will get a $250 check on the spot! The criteria for this is not just their ability as a Strongman but also a person and competitor as they go throughout the day.

Cash prizes will also be given for each weight class winner that has > 5 competitors in in it at a minimum of $100 payout!

EVERY competitor will receive a gift bag with tons of goodies from our sponsors as well as a a competition T-shirt.

Weights posted are NOT FINALIZED, but meant to be place holders to show the caliber of the show. We will do some more testing and confirm soon! Save the date and come compete!

Each rep after the first one the judge will only give a down call. The athlete will have :60 to perform as many reps as possible. The keg will be returned to the ground or crash pad for every rep.

Scoring: carrying the keg from the start into the pressing area = 1 rep, then the each press will be added to create a total score if carry is completed. Any carry not completed will be scored a zero.

MEN - you will start at parallel (your height will be taken before the competition starts), when the judge starts the event (whistle or go call) you will lockout the squat and then lower when given a down call. You will not receive any more up calls from there, but if the judge feels that you are unsafely bouncing out of the bottom they have the authority to warn you and then stop your event if you don't listen.

Women - you will start with your hands off the car DL frame, when the judge starts the event (whistle or go call) you will lockout the deadlift and then lower when given a down call. You will not receive any more up calls from there, but if the judge feels that you are unsafely bouncing out of the bottom they have the authority to warn you and then stop your event if you don't listen.

The athlete will be instructed on day of contest which side of the Fingal finger to run on to get to the next rep after a successful flip. There will be multiple lanes and this is important for safety. If the athlete goes to the wrong side they will be warned once, if it happens again they zero the event. The athlete is allowed to rest the finger on their shoulder or head during their turn, but judges reserve the right to stop the athlete if they look as though they are going to injure themselves.

Once the athlete reaches the line to drop each implement the judge will alert them. Kegs must be stood upright in the loading area to finish the medley and get a time.
