Welcome to the first Home Gym Convention Strongman Throwdown!
This is a United States Strongman sanctioned event, and Athlete memberships are required to compete!
This is a qualifying event for USS Nationals, July 2024.
Cash Prizes! These are based on ticket sales and to the convention. 5% of ticket sales at the convention will be paid out to competitors.

Weight Classes:
There will be no subgroup weight classes in this contest! It will only have Weight Divisions (e.g., LW, MW, HW, SHW)
Women’s Novice: Any Female Athlete that has not competed in an Open Division or has not won a Novice Division. No weight limit.
Women’s Lightweight: 132lbs/60kg
Women’s Middleweight: 165lbs/75kg
Women’s Heavyweight: 198lbs/90kg
Women’s Super Heavyweight: 242+lbs/110+kg
Men’s Novice Lightweight: Any Male Athlete <220lbs>
Men’s Novice Heavyweight: Any Male Athlete >220lbs that has not competed in an Open Division or has not won a Novice Division

Spectators must purchase tickets through the Home Gym Convention website for Saturday, April 24th to attend this event. All spectators are welcome to purchase other ticket options as well.

Event 1: Press Medley
The Athlete will be given 60 seconds to Clean and Overhead Press 3 implements in the following succession: Axle Clean and Press Once, Log Clean and Press Once, Circus Dumbbell Clean and Press for Max Reps. The Circus Dumbbell does not need to return to theground for every repetition. Athletes must wait for the “Down” command from the judge before returning weight to the ground from the locked out overhead position. Athletes may Strict Press, Push Press, Push Jerk, or Split Jerk the implements. Any variation of pressing will require feet to come together under the Athlete’s hips before a “Down” command is given. Snatching any of the implements will not be permitted. Implements must be reasonably returned to the ground in a safe manner.

Event 2: Cerberus Strength Max 13" Kratos Strongman Bar Deadlift
Wessells Rules: Athletes will have 3 attempts; once an attempt is missed they will not be permitted to continue. Athletes will be given the “Start” command to begin the Deadlift and will have 60 seconds to complete. They will receive a “Down” command when the lift is completed. Athletes must show knees and hips in a locked out position. The bar weight will increase by 20 pounds per jump. Athletes do not need to take every jump once they step in, they may choose which jumps they want to use their attempts for until they either: Complete all 3 attempts; or Fail an attempt. If two Athletes tie in successful attempts, the winner and points will go to whichever Athlete had a heavier opening attempt. If both Athletes opened at the same weight, the points will be split. Sumo style is not permitted. Hitching is permitted.

Event 3: 1st Phorm Truck Pull
Wearing a harness with a guide rope in hand, Athletes will have 60 seconds to pull a truck down a 50 foot course as quickly as possible. Time stops when the front wheels of the truck cross the finish line.
Equipment Allowed: Gloves, Elbow & Knee Sleeves, Belts, Chalk
Equipment Not Allowed: Suits, Briefs, Tacky of any kind, Overbuilt belts, Hook Handles
Event 4: Surplus Strength Yoke & Black Widow Frame Carry Medley
Athletes will be given 60 seconds to carry a Yoke for 50 feet followed immediately by a Frame Carry for 50 feet back to the starting position. No slides–2 second penalty added to each slide. Entire Yoke must cross the line before the Athlete may move to the Frame. Time stops when the entire Frame passes through the designated line. Yoke heights will be taken before competition in the warmups.

Event 5: Freedom Strength Head to Head Sandbag Over Bar
Using the Surplus Strength Yoke as the bar, Women's height will be 48", Men's height will be at 52". Athletes in each division will be reordered based on standings from the first 4 events and will be pitted head to head in ranking from the last place to first place (e.g., 1st and 2nd place Athletes will face off; 3rd and 4th place Athletes will face off; etc.). If there is an odd number of Athletes, the individual in last place will be given 30 seconds between attempts to load the Sandbag. Athletes will have 30 seconds to load the Sandbag over the bar–there will be 15 seconds to lap the bag and 15 seconds to load over the bar. Should the Athlete fail to load or drop the Sandbag after the first 15 seconds, they will be eliminated. Last man standing does not always win! This event is still for maximum reps! If an Athlete is eliminated, they are encouraged to push for as many reps as they can lift, and will be given 30 seconds of rest between each attempt to do so.
