APOLLO'S RUN “Yoke Run and Sled push”   Apollo, the god of archery, was totally full of himself after he slayed the mighty Python. He even dared to mock Cupid for taking up the bow. Cupid avenges him by shooting a golden arrow that causes Apollo to fall in love with Daphne. Cupid’s silver arrow simultaneously makes her detest Apollo . As soon as Apollo sees Daphne, he chases after her like He was hunting an animal.

• YOKE RUN /SLED PUSH : 60 second time limit 30’ Course each implement - One set down allowed f- or Yoke Run - Athlete will start with the Yoke on the floor and shoulders under the crossbar. The signal is given and the athlete must lift and carry the yoke –Complete Yoke must cross 30’ mark No sliding of the yoke will be permitted, Disqualification from the event if sliding is obvious, or 2 second penalty if inadvertent. Sled Push remaining 30’ –entire sled must cross line. Equipment allowed: Belt, Knee sleeves or wraps, supportive suits, chalk. Equipment NOT allowed: Tacky.

DAPHNE LOG: Apollo finally reaches Daphne, but she has arrived at her homeland, and she cries out to her father Peneus, who is a water god. His idea of saving Daphne is to turn her into a tree. Apollo never stops loving Daphne, even though she is a bushy little laurel. He even wears her leaves around his head in a weird little crown. Apollo puts laurel leaves on his old-fashioned guitar, too, and he sometimes strums sad tunes to the tree. If he had been mortal, Apollo would have died of heartbreak. Instead, he became a tree fetishist. That’s what happens when you mess with Cupid!  

• LOG PRESS: 60 seconds - clean and press each rep – may press, push press, jerk, split jerk  to lock out position -  Must wait for “Good” down signal  each rep – Must lower under control no deliberate dropping or athelte may forfeit his attempt – Equipment allowed: belt, chalk,wrist wraps, elbow sleeves,knee wraps. – Equipment Not allowed any item placed in belt to provide a “shelf”, back of belt built up to no more than 8”wide,tacky,elbow wraps.Any and all anatomical limitations preventing athlete from locking out as described above must be demonstrated to the judge prior to start of the event. This is soley the responsibility of the athlete.

CUPID’S ARROW THROW “SEINSTOSSEN STONE”  Cupid’s arrow is straight and sharp, never misses its mark, but it leaves one hell of an exit wound!.

• SEINSTOSSEN STONE THROW:(RUBBER TREAD SLAM BALL ) weights: 100lbs. men; 80lbs. women – Two-handed overhead toss for the longest distance- each competitor will have ( 3) three attempts . Begin on a 20 foot runway, hurling the stone forward – OVERHEAD. Disqualified by stepping past the fault line during or immediately after the throw. Distances are measured from the end of stone to the edge of the fault line.

Psyche Tasks “TIRE FLIP’s” : Cupid’s mom Venus sees that a mortal girl is born with a beauty so great that people forget to worship Venus, the goddess of love and beauty. Venus starts to miss all the attention and altar sacrifices, so she sends down her son, Cupid, to the unlucky beautiful girl, Psyche, fall in love with a gross monster. (Because that’ll show Psyche!) Cupid agrees, but, of course, falls in love with Psyche after “accidentally” hitting himself with one of his own golden arrows. Cupid begins to visit Psyche in dark every night but tells her she must never look at his face. Which she obviously does, so Cupid gets upset and leaves. Psyche searches everywhere for her mystery lover and finally asks Venus to help her find him. Venus decides to put Psyche to several TASKS Before she’ll help the girl find her love.

• TIRE FLIP:   45 second time limit – Three ( 3) full flips- athlete will start with hands off the tire – Alternating sides must walk around (no jumping on or in tire) The front of the tire must hit the ground before the timer stops - split times will be taken if all flips are not completed  Equipment allowed: belts, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, grip shirts - Equipment not allowed: anything sticky
