2023 Kansas Strongest Man and Woman

All events and rules and info are subject to change at anytime*

Registration $80 for the first 20 to register, $100 Registration fee after that, USS Membership Required of all Athletes.
$5 For spectators (day of, kids 12 and under free)

Novice men's LW and HW will be limited to 10 entries for each at this time. 

WEIGH IN: 3/31 morning by appointment only, 6p-8p open weight ins. 4/1 from 7:30-8:00 am

Rules Meeting: 8:30am, competition will start promptly at 9:00

AWARDS: Trophies for each class. All Open and Masters class winners will get free entry into the 2024 KSM Event.

Pro Class Minimum of 6 competitors to qualify for pro card and cash prizes.

Minimum prize Money 1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $200. We are working on some sponsors to raise those numbers. 

National Qualifier: 1st-3rd in each class, as well as first place in the novice divisions will qualify for the 2023 United States Strongman Nationals.

*For all events:

1. No Bare feet (skin to mat)
2. Contest shirt must be worn for all events except atlas stones
3. No build up belts (Only 1 hard and 1 soft allowed)
4. No Baby Powder 

Cleanup: We will be providing cleaning supplies at each platform, we respectfully ask that competitors please cleanup any bodily fluids that might be left on the platform at anytime during the day.  This is not meant to attack anyone, there is just a general health and safety risk potentially involved in cleaning up someone else's bodily fluids.

Mammoth Bar Wagon Wheel Last Man/Woman Standing Deadlift Sleeves, belts, suits, wraps, chalk will all be permitted, Hitching/Ramping is allowed. NO BARE FEET, must have on at least socks or DL slippers. NO TACKY OR STICKY SUBSTANCE OF ANY KIND no stacked belts, NO bouncing the bar in anyway allowed. No sumo, hands must be outside of the knees at setup.

Last Person Standing. The Mammoth deadlift bar will be loaded with a 26" titan wagon wheel for a pull height of 13". Go and down commands will be given for each rep. Once given the go command for each rep you will have 15 seconds to strap in and START the rep. You will do 1 rep, and the next person will go once everyone has gone weight will be added and you will go again. You must do every weight loaded on the bar until you fail or quit. Last person standing wins.

Women will make 20 pound jumps until someone in the class fails, then 10 pound jumps until last woman standing..  

Men will make 50 pound jumps until someone in the class fails, then 20 pound jumps until last man standing.

Load and Drag Gloves, sleeves, belts, suits, wraps, chalk, will all be permitted. NO TACKY OR STICKY SUBSTANCE OF ANY KIND, SHOES MUST be worn.

Load and drag for time. 3 Sand bags will be placed on the ground. Competitors will load all the bags into the sled, then pickup the handle up and drag the sled 50 feet. Sled must completely cross the finish line and time will stop. Distance will be given if not completed in 1 minute.

Thor’s Hammer Front Hold Sleeves, belts, suits, wraps, chalk, will all be permitted. NO TACKY OF ANY KIND, no gloves. SHOES MUST be worn.

Max 2 hand front hold for time. Spotter/ Loaders will hand athlete implement; arms will be extended and locked out in front one hand on top of the other touching. Once fully extended and in position time will start; max hold for time. Athletes back will be against a if lower back/butt and or shoulders come off the wall at any time clock will stop. Once the arms drop below parallel (and can't return quickly by the judges command) time will stop.

Fingal’s Finger Gloves (rubber, leather, synthetic, etc.) will be allowed and are suggested, NO TACKY OR STICKY SUBSTANCE OF ANY KIND.  Sleeves, belts, suits, wraps, chalk, grip shirts will all be permitted. SHOES MUST be worn

6" Log weighs about 100# in hand

10" Log weighs about 195#in hand

Pick height will be 12" for everyone except all masters classes and pro women, they will have an 18" pick.

1 minute max reps. Fingers will be lifted from a horizontal resting position and flipped over to the other side. Competitor will flip the finger back and forth as many times as possible in 1 minute and score will be given for the number of reps. 

Atlas Stone Load:  Grip shirts of any kind, wraps, sleeves, belts, all the tacky, and tacky towel are allowed.  There will be an area to apply your tacky and a Tacky Clean up station . YOU WILL NOT BE WALKING ALL OVER THE GYM WITH TACKY ON, IF YOU DO YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND ASKED TO LEAVE.

4 Stone for time. Stones will be loaded in order from lightest, to heaviest all to a height of 44" for women and 52" for men. fastest to load all 4 stones wins. If not all 4 are loaded within 120 seconds, the amount of stones and time taken to load them will determine placing.
