Events

Event 1 Max DL Bar Deadlift

  • Athletes will have Unlimited attempts to lift the heaviest weight possible.
  • Weight jumps will be 5kg at a time for women, 10kg jumps for men. Yes, we are using Kilos. We have calibrated plates.
  • Athletes may not go down in weight after a failed attempt, they may retake the same weight, but can NOT go down.
  • Athletes will have 30s to complete the deadlift.
  • Athletes will receive a "down" command from the judge.
  • Athletes will be allowed to use the following: suits, chalk, knee sleeves, soft belts, and hard belts.
  • Athletes will NOT be allowed to use the following: lifting straps and tacky.

Yes, you read that right, we are not allowing straps. If you can't grip it, don't rip it.

Event 2 Yoke/Farmer Medley

  • Athletes will start behind the yoke. On the command go, they will get underneath the yoke, lift it and run it 50' clearing the front posts of the yoke across the line. Once complete the athletes will run back to the farmers at the starting line and pick them up and run them 50' down to the end of the course. As soon as the farmers handles cross the line, time will stop.
  • Athletes will be allowed to use the following: chalk, knee sleeves, soft belts, and hard belts.
  • Athletes will NOT be allowed to use the following: lifting straps, tacky, suits.

Event 3 Log Press Ladder

  • Athletes will start with their hands off of the 1st log. On the command "go" athletes will clean and press the first log. Once they receive a down command, they will control the log down to the ground/crash pads and move to the next log. Once the second log is pressed and a "down" command is given, return the log under control to the ground/crash pads. On the third and final log it is a press away for the remainder of the time. You may clean the final log more than once.
  • Athletes will have 1 minute from the go command.
  • Slater Trump.  The 285lbs Slater will be a part of the log ladder for the Open HW/SHW class. But, since I know there are some people who may be able to give it a shot here is the deal. Anyone who does not have the Slater Log in their ladder can attempt to press it. It will have to be pressed in the 1 minute time cap, and after already pressing the first 2 logs. If the press is successful, you will automatically win the event unless someone else can lift it in your weight class.
  • Athletes will be allowed to use the following: chalk, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, soft belt, hard belt, grip shirt, Olympic lifting shoes.
  • Athletes will NOT be allowed to use the following: Tacky.

Event 4 Max Distance Sandbag Carry

  • Athletes will start standing over the sandbag. On the command "go" athletes will pick up the sandbag and begin walking the course. They have unlimited time to carry for max distance. Only rules are that you cannot drop the sandbag and repick it, and you must continue moving the whole time. There will be no stopping and squatting to readjust the sandbag to walk further. The first pick is all you get to move the sandbag as far as you can.
  • We will be on a 50' course (the same course as Yoke/Farmer) doing down and backs until you can't.
  • Athletes will be allowed to use the following: chalk, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, soft belt, hard belt, grip shirt, gloves (wide receiver style is okay)
  • Athletes will NOT be allowed to use the following: Tacky.

Event 5 Head-to-Head Stone Over Bar

  • Once we make it to the final event, athletes will be reordered where the person in last will go first, and the person in first will go last. The person in last and the person that is second to last will start off the event. The person in last will load the stone over the bar within 30s. Once they load it over the bar, the person on the other side will load it back over. This will continue until one person fails. Once they fail, they will remove themselves from the lifting platform and the next person up will take their spot and load the stone over in 30s. The number of reps will be counted for score.
  • Athletes will be allowed to use the following: knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, stone sleeves, tape for forearms, grip shirts, Olympic lifting shoes, hard belts, soft belts, and tacky.
  • Athletes can opt to go no shirt as well if they choose to do so.
  • Women‘s bar height 48”
  • Men’s bar height 52”

NOTE: There will be a tacky removal station set up. Do NOT drag tacky into the gym. That's not cool.
