SHOES ARE REQUIRED FOR EVERY EVENT.
WEIGHTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED CLOSER TO THE EVENT, AS EQUIPMENT IS STILL BEING BUILT.
The safety of your children is our #1 priority with having fun as a close second. We will make sure that weights are light enough, but still challenging, so that each child enjoys participating in their age group.
Event 1: Little Wrangler Log Lift
Log Press for reps - 30 second time limit.
Athletes will clean and press the log for as many reps as possible in a 30 second timed attempt. Clean and press will be required for each lift, and the athlete should wait for the down command from the judge. Weights will be aired on the lighter side for each age group to ensure safety when pressing the implement overhead. There will be a smaller log for younger age groups, and a loadable log for older age groups. Crash pads will be used so that the athlete can drop the log safely and there will also be a spotter present.
Event 2: Ranch Hand Run
Farmers Handle carry down 25ft and back 25ft (50ft total) for fastest time.
Athletes can start with their hands on the farmer handles. When time begins, athlete will pick and carry the implements 25ft down. Athlete will then drop, turn, and re-pick the implements to carry them back an additional 25ft. This will be scored on fastest time or distance if the course is not completed. Athletes may drop the farmer handles and re-pick as many times as needed, but if the athlete cannot re-pick them within 10 seconds, time will end. There will be a smaller pair of farmer handles for younger age groups, and a larger pair for older age groups.
Event 3: The Great Bull Pull
Arm-over-arm sled pull 25ft for fastest time.
Athlete will begin in a standing position. When time begins, athlete will pull the sled down for 25ft using a rope in an arm-over-arm motion. Athletes will complete the pull while standing and weights will be light enough to accommodate each age group. Time will end when the front of the sled crosses the finish line, and fastest time wins.
Event 4: Load the Wagon Medley
Two Slam Ball carry and load for fastest time.
Athletes will begin at the line where two slam balls are positioned. When time begins, athlete will pick one ball and carry it down 25ft, then load it onto a plyometric box. Athlete will then run back to the second slam ball, then carry and load it in the same manner. The first ball will be lighter, while the second is heavier. Fastest time wins. Weights will be chosen based on age group with running taken into consideration. A spotter will stand behind the plyometric box to ensure athlete safety during loading.
