5:00 to 7:00 pm
During the above times, we will get yoke heights and athletes may check equipment.
Weights are subject to change!
There will be no tacky of any kind allowed for any event in this comp, so just leave your tacky at home. There will be a $5 spectator fee at the door! Athletes are allowed one handler (family member/spouse/friend/partner), all others must pay spectator fee.
Axle Squat
Equipment allowed: Suit, briefs, knee wraps or sleeves, soft belt, powerlifting belt, grip shirt, chalk.
Athlete will unrack the bar in their own time. Once they have walked the bar out and are steady, the judge will call "Squat". Time will start on the very first "Squat" command. The athlete will squat down until both sides of the bar make contact with boxes positioned on either side of the athlete. As soon as both sides touch, the athlete will stand back up to full knee and hip extension. Athletes will be given "Squat" command before completing each repetition. If both sides do not touch, athlete will be told "No lift". Athletes will complete as many reps as possible in 60 seconds.
Max Axle Clean & Press
Equipment allowed: Grip shirt, soft belt, powerlifting belt, knee/elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk.
Athletes will be given three attempts to clean and press as much weight as possible. Each attempt will be 60 seconds in which athletes may make as many attempts as they desire in the time limit to complete the lift. The axle will begin at 120 lbs and weight will be increased by 20 lbs per jump. Athletes may skip as many weight increases as they wish; however, the weight will never go back down. Thus, if an attempt is missed an athlete will be given one more attempt, but must do so at a higher weight. Athletes may catch the axle on their belt (belt clean); however, athletes are not allowed to create a "shelf" by stacking multiple belts on top of each other or stuffing rags or sleeves in their belt to create a larger platform to catch the axle, e.g. athletes may wear one soft belt and one 10 or 13 mm powerlifting belt!
On the start command, the athlete will pick up the axle from the floor, then clean and press it overhead until the arms are at full extension. Once the athlete has demonstrated they are in control of the weight overhead, they will be given a "down" command. Athletes may strict press, push press, push jerk, or split jerk in order to press the weight overhead.
Deadlift Ladder
Equipment allowed: Suit, briefs, lifting straps or figure-8s, soft belt, powerlifting belt, knee sleeves or wraps, chalk.
Athletes will be given 75 seconds to deadlift four weights in ascending order. The first bar will be a power bar, the second bar is an axle, the third bar is a deadlift bar, and the final bar will be set at 18 inches! Athletes may begin with their grip set on the first bar. On the start command, athletes will lift the bar until knees and hips are fully extended and are given the "down" command, then proceed to the next bar. Athletes may not drop weight from the top, it must be lowered under control. Athletes may use any grip strategy they desire, they are not required to use straps, i.e. hook grip the first bar, mix grip the second, mix grip the third, and use straps on the last.
Super Yoke
Equipment allowed: Knee sleeves or wraps, soft belt, powerlifting belt, grip shirt, chalk.
Athletes will be given 60 seconds to carry a ridiculously heavy yoke down a 20 ft course. Athletes may drop the yoke as many times as they need to; however, may not drag or slide the yoke. Athletes will position themselves underneath the yoke and when given the start command, will stand up with the yoke and carry it the predetermined distance. Only the front of the yoke needs to cross the line to complete the attempt.
Tire Flip
Equipment allowed: Knee/Elbow sleeves, grip shirt, chalk, soft belt, powerlifting belt.
Athletes will be given 60 seconds to flip a tire end over end as many times as possible. The tire will be flipped "in place", e.g. the athlete will flip the tire end over end, then run to the opposite side and flip it back to where it started.
**Tire weights are approximate. The manufacturer states that tires are a specific weight when brand new; however, due to wear and erosion of the rubber the tires are no longer at full weight*
