Masachusetts State Championships 2024

Peabody, MA
Welcome to the Massachusetts State Championships of 2024:
This will have two State record breaking events, The max log and Max deadlift, so you will have the ability to try and break the current records.
Weigh ins will be available the day before the show from 5am-9am and from 4pm-7pm the day of the show you will be able to weigh in from 6am-8am. If you are not here by 8:15 am you will dropped from the show. EVERYONE MUST WEIGH IN.
Rules meeting will start promptly at 8:30am-8:40am, then you will have 20 minutes to warm up and we will start lifting promptly at 9am.
Pay attention to the rules, specifically to what is allowed for each event, if I don't list something, its because you can't use it, so if there is something you want to use but don't see it on the (allowed gear) section, don't ask, because the answer is already no!
Event 1: Your opening weight must be handed in and final by August 31st and no adjustments can be made after that!
Max Log: Wessels Rule
You will have 60 second to do 1 rep, you will have 3 attempts to get to the heaviest weight you can do.
Wessels Rule: You fail any of your attempts and will lose the chance to lift again, so make sure you open with a weight you know you can do.
You will be given the commands, 1. TAKE YOUR GRIP 2.ATHLETE READY 3. LIFT At that command the time will start and you will have one minute to complete 1 good rep of he weight you have chosen, you can attempt as many times as you need to in that one minute time frame. Once the log is fully locked out over head and your feet are in line and elbow are locked, you will be given a down command.
Do not drop the log from over head. Do not rest the log on your head.
Allowed Gear, grip shirts, chalk, belts soft and hard or both, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, knee sleeves.
Event 2
Farmers walk:
All handles will be standard barbell width handles except for the heavy weight men will have a 2 inch handle.
UNLIMITED DROPS: You can drop it as needed, but when you are making the turn and drop it you have to pick it up the way it is facing and continue making the turn, you will be walking around a cone.
You will be given the commands, 1. TAKE YOUR GRIP 2.ATHLETE READY 3. LIFT At that command the time will start and you will have 1:30 1 minute and 30 seconds to complete the course.
Because there is 2 max effort events in the show this will be a slightly lighter weight than most heavy shows.
Allowed Gear, chalk, belts soft and hard or both, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, knee sleeves.
When crossing the finish line you will not drop the implements and jump out of them. You will stop and put them down. You will have plenty of room to run through the finish line if you are moving that fast but you will be requires to pass the line and then stop and put them down. This is for your safety and the safety of people standing near by
