ARNOLD qualifier!
Event 1: Overhead Medley - 60-second time limit
Competitors will have 60 seconds to complete one keg press, one log clean & press, and then clean and press an axle for as many reps as possible (clean and press every rep). Note that the axle will be on wagon wheels and will be at an elevated clean height.
Women will be using a 25lb hollow axle with Titan Wagon Wheels, Men will use a 75lb solid axle with Rogue 26ers
Competitors MUST wait for a Down command from the judge for any rep to count. Competitors may choose their pressing method - strict press, push press, viper press, push jerk, split jerk, etc are all allowed. Implements may not rest on top of a competitor's head. Belt cleans are allowed. Strongman Corp lockout standards apply - feet must be parallel, hips/knees/elbows must all be locked out, and head must be pushed through. Accommodations for physiological limitations must be discussed with the judge beforehand, and are subject to the judge's discretion.
There will be no split times - your score is the number of reps completed.
10 inch log women
12 inch log men
Belt buckles/levers must be worn to the side or back to avoid scratching implements.
Equipment allowed: Chalk, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Knee Wraps, Belt, Strongman Corp or Cerberus Grip Shirts
Equipment not allowed: Tacky, Spray Tack, Elbow Wraps (sleeves are allowed, wraps are not), Non-Strongman Corp or Non-Cerberus Grip Shirts
Event 2: Fatback Farmers - 60-second time limit
Competitors may start with their hands on the implement, but may not lift until given the Start command. Competitors will carry the farmers' 40'. At the 40' mark, once the front plates have broken across the tape line, the competitor will lower the implements and perform 4 deadlifts. They must wait for an UP and DOWN command on every lift. After successful completion of the 4th deadlift, the competitor will turn around inside the implements, lift, and carry them 40' back to the starting line. Once the front plates have broken across the tape line, the competitor will again perform 4 deadlifts, with an UP and DOWN command on each one. The time stops when the final deadlift is completed.
Your score is your time for finishing, or the number of deadlift reps completed if you do not finish. There will be no split times or distances.
Equipment allowed: Chalk, Sleeves, Knee Wraps, Wrist Wraps, Belts
Equipment not allowed: Gloves, Straps, Tacky, Spray Tack
Event 3: Max Weight Wagon Wheel Axle Deadlift - 30 seconds per attempt
Competitors will have 3 attempts. Once the judge gives the Start command, the competitor will have 30 seconds to strap in and complete a deadlift. Ramping and hitching are allowed - sumo is not. Standard Strongman Corp lockout standards apply. Competitors must demonstrate full lockout with their hips and knees locked out, and their shoulders neutral. No lift will count without a DOWN command from the judge.
This will be a rising bar format, with set weight jumps. The women's platform will start at 225lbs, with 20lb weight jumps: 225, 245, 265, 285, 305, 325, 345, 365, 385, 405, 425, 445, 465, 485, 505, 525, 545, 565, 585, 605.
The men's platform will start at 365lbs, with 50lb weight jumps: 365, 415, 465, 515, 565, 615, 665, 715, 765, 815, 865, 915, 965, 1015
Competitors may start at any listed weight, and may skip weights. If a competitor fails to complete a lift in their 30-second window, they forfeit any remaining attempts. In short, you have up to 3 attempts, but once you fail, you're out.
In the event of a tie in a class, the higher placing will be given to the athlete that achieved the lift in the lowest number of attempts. Example: Two athletes have a final successful lift at 715lbs. One athlete achieved this on his second attempt, the other athlete on his third. The higher placing will be given to the athlete who achieved it on his second attempt.
Equipment allowed: Straps, Gloves, Chalk, Sleeves, Knee Wraps, Belt, Deadlift Suits/Briefs
Equipment not allowed: Tacky, Spray Tack
Event 4: Carry and Load Medley - 60-second time limit
There will be three implements to be carried and loaded over a yoke, with the light sandbag set at 30' from the bar, the keg set at 20' from the bar, and the heavy sandbag set at 10' from the bar. On the Start command, competitors will pick, carry, and load the light sandbag, then sprint back and pick, carry, and load the keg, and then return to pick, carry, and load the heavy sandbag. Implements may be shouldered. Competitors MAY NOT grab the yoke crossbar during the load.
Yoke height 48 inches women
Yoke height 52 inches men
Your score will be the completion time, or a distance.
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, sleeves, belts, gloves, wraps, sleeves, Strongman Corp or Cerberus Grip Shirts
Equipment Not Allowed: Anything sticky, non-Strongman Corp or non-Cerberus Grip Shirts
Event Five: Max Weight Sandbag to Shoulder - One 60-second attempt
This will be done in the same format as the 2024 Arnold Amateur World Championship finale event. Each competitor will have one 60-second attempt to shoulder the heaviest sandbag that he or she can.
A variety of sandbags varying in weight will be lined up. On the start command, the competitor will attempt to shoulder any of the sandbags. Competitors may attempt as many different sandbags as they wish during that time. They can start off with a light bag to ensure a score, or go straight to a heavy bag. After a successful lift, they may continue to attempt heavier bags in the remainder of the 60-second time limit. No lift will count without a DOWN command from the judge.
Your score will be the heaviest bag successfully shouldered. There will be no split times, or additional points for multiple reps or bags. The score will simply be the weight of the heaviest bag lifted.
Sandbag Weight Options (lbs): 120, 132, 150, 176, 200, 220, 250, 264, 280, 300, 308, 320, 352, 400
