Welcome to the Mill Monster Classic

Weigh in’s will be Friday the 27th from 10:00am-2:00pm, 3:00pm-5:00pm and the morning of the event at 8:00am at Johnson Milling Company.

The competition will be indoors but not climate controlled. Coolers, chairs, drinks, food, etc. are welcome. 

This is a USS sanctioned event and is a national qualifier. If you podium in open class you will qualify. Finishing first in novice will also qualify.

Athletes will be ranked according to USS standards of your weight class. For the awards of the competition, athletes will be judged by the class you signed up for/put in at the competition. Meaning while you may not win a trophy, you may have still qualified.

Events:

1. Log Clean and Press
2. Police Car Deadlift
3. Sandbag/Keg carry to load
4. Hercules Hold
5. Atlas Stone Load Medley

Log Clean and Press:

Athletes will have 60 seconds to get as many reps as possible. Clean and press every rep and wait for your down call. If you don’t wait for the down call, the full rep will not count. You will get 1/2 point for a successful clean at the judges discretion. So 6 full reps is beat if someone gets 6 and a clean. No tacky.

Police Car Deadlift:

Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible. Athletes will take their grip and on command begin. You will have up and down calls. No touch and go. The judge will wait for the car to settle for your up call. No tacky, suits, or briefs. Straps, sleeves, wraps, chalk, belts are fine.

Sandbag/Keg carry to load:

Athletes will have 90 seconds to complete the event. When the start command is given, the athlete will carry the implement 50 feet and load over the bar then go back for the other and do the same. You can start with either one, your choice. No shouldering. Front carry only. No tacky. Unlimited drops. Control your loads. Don’t launch it. If you drop the keg and it rolls, YOU will have to get it back to where you dropped it and pick it back up. So don’t drop it.

Hercules Hold:

Athlete will stand in the middle of the implement and with out stretched arms, hold the handles as long as possible. No straps or tacky. Chalk is fine.

Atlas Stone Load Medley:

Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete the event. There will be 5 stones, each heavier than the last. On command to start, athletes will take their grip and begin the lift. Tacky is allowed.
