This is a qualifier for USS Strongman 2023 Nationals for the top 3 in each open class and 1st place in the novice classes.

Weigh-ins will be day before at RGV Strength 31630 FM1575, Los Fresnos, TX 78566. If you need to weigh-in day of, shoot me an email so arrangements can be made. 

Rules: Rules are at 9:00 am, lifting starts at 10:00

Spectators will be $10 at the door.

Sinister Strength Showdown

Log ladder:

Men will be using 12 in logs, Women will be using 8 in logs. When the start command is given athletes will run up to the first log clean and press. Athletes must be fully locked out and wait for the down command before they can move on to the next log. Log must be brought down in a controlled manor. NO DROPPING FROM OVERHEAD! An intentional drop from overhead will result in a 0 for the event. Fastest time wins. In the event an athlete does not finish the event, weight will be recorded. Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete the ladder. 

Allowed: Knee Sleeves, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist wraps, soft belt, Hard belt, Grip Shirt (cannot be and OSG or SC shirt)

Max Wagon Wheel Deadlift: 

Last man standing event, if you miss an attempt you’re out. If you are using figure 8 straps hands must be on the bar at all times (no lifting with your fingertips). Athletes must be fully locked out and wait for down command. The bar being will either be an Ohio power bar or Cerberus power bar.  

Allowed: Knee Sleeves, Elbow Sleeves, Straps, soft belt, Hard belt, Suits 

Yoke:

Athletes start will under the yoke. Once the start command is given athlete will have 60 seconds to take the yoke down 60 ft. Fastest time wins. If athlete cannot complete the event distance will be taken. Time stops when the front of the yoke crosses. 

Allowed: Knee Sleeves, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist wraps, soft belt, Hard belt, Grip Shirt (cannot be and OSG or SC shirt)

Sandbag Carry and Load:

Sandbags will be staggered at 15ft, 10ft, 5ft going lightest to heaviest. Athletes must start with the lightest bag at 15ft first. Athletes will start hands off. Once start command is given, athletes will pick up the bag, carry it down and load it over the yoke. The yoke cannot be used to assist with the load. Hight for the yoke will be 48 in for women and 52 in for men.  

Allowed: Knee Sleeves, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist wraps, soft belt, Hard belt, Grip Shirt (cannot be and OSG or SC shirt)

Hercules Hold:

Hold for time, longest time wins. Time will stop when athlete lets go.

Allowed: Knee Sleeves, Elbow Sleeves, Wrist wraps, soft belt, Hard belt
