Rules
Max Axle Clean and Press
Athlete will receive "Bar is loaded" command, at which point the athlete may attempt their lift. A good lift will include feet "square," head through, elbows locked. Athlete will then be given a "Down" command.
Event will be run in two lanes, rising bar style. There will be specific lanes for specific weight classes, TBD. Athletes may jump in whenever, and judges will track quantity of attempts and weight lifted. It is the athlete's responsibility to state their name before each attempt. Athletes will be given roughly 30 seconds per attempt.
Allowable equipment includes belt, double belt, knee and elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk, and grip shirt. No tacky or tacky towels; no elbow wraps.
Score will be taken as weight + attempt. For example, if Athlete 1 hits 300 lbs on their 2nd attempt, and Athlete 2 hits 300 lbs on their 3rd, Athlete 1 wins the tie breaker on that event.
An implement dropped intentionally from overhead will receive a zero on that attempt, no warnings.
Deadlift Medley
There will be a 60 second time limit. Athlete must deadlift a total of 3 implements, 2 reps each, as fast as possible in 60 seconds. The order will be axle for 2 reps, farmer's handles for 2 reps, then deadlift barbell for 2 reps. Athlete may start with hands on the axle and strapped in. Athletes will receive a "Ready, Set," whistle start. Athletes will receive both down and up commands. A successful rep means hips must be locked with locked knees (no soft knees).
An implement dropped from hip height will receive a 5 second penalty, no warnings.
Allowable equipment includes belt, double belt, knee sleeves and wraps, chalk, straps, and briefs and/or deadlift suit with straps down.
Split times will not be taken, only total reps and completed time. For example, if an athlete only does 5 reps within the time limit, their score will be 5 + 60.00. But if an athlete does 6 reps in 52 seconds, their score will be 6 + 52.00.
Duck Walk / Farmer's Walk Medley
There will be a 60 second time limit. Athlete will start 5'-0" behind the implement start line. Athlete will receive "ready, set," whistle start command. Athlete will duck walk the implement 30 ft to the line. The athlete will then grab the farmer's walk handles and run them back 60 ft. Each implement must only break the plane of each line.
Duck walk implements will be Bartos Power Center XL Pins. Farmers walk handles will be top loading with roughly 19" pick heights.
If an athlete cannot complete the medley within the time limit, then a whistle will sound, at which the athlete must drop the implement, and total distance to the front of the furthest implement will be measured.
Allowable equipment include double belt, chalk, knee sleeves and wraps. No straps, suits, briefs, tacky, or spray tack.
Sandbag Toss Over Bar
You know the drill if you've been here before!
Athlete will start with one hand on the yoke upright. Athlete will receive "ready, set," whistle start command. Sandbags will be set up roughly 8 feet away from the overhead crossbar. Athlete will throw the sandbags over the crossbar as fast as possible. Athlete is responsible for picking up bags that do not make it over. Must throw bags from lightest to heaviest.
60 seconds total. Time splits will be taken as each bag hits the ground.
Allowable equipment includes everything except tacky or spray tack.
Bags will be a mix of Rogue and Cerberus.
Stone Over Bar for Reps
There will be a 60 second time limit. Men will have a 54" bar height. Women will have a 48" bar height.
Athlete will start with hands or forearms on the yoke crossbar. Athlete will receive "Ready, set, lift" command. Athlete will load the stone over the bar and it will be returned to the athlete. If an athlete takes both hands off the stone and uses the yoke for leverage, that rep will not count.
Split times will be taken as the stone hits the ground.
Allowable equipment includes tacky, tacky towel, chalk, belt, grip shirt.
Weight Class Clarifications
Note that the Novice and Masters classes list Super Heavyweight. This means that there is no weight class, it is just one Novice class for men and one for women. Masters is the same. Novice class athletes do not qualify for nationals events noted below.
Event Location
For those that have competed previously, it is a slightly different location this year. It is at Firemen's Park near the corner of Winnequah Road and Progressive Lane.
Feel free to bring chairs, tents, coolers, etc. There is a shelter with restrooms, and there will be food, drinks, and beer available for purchase.
Parking
Free street parking is available nearby. Expect to walk a distance equivalent to two or three blocks.
