Weigh ins will take place on June 20th at 777 Fitness (777 15th Street West) from 9am to 11am and 5pm to 7pm.  Please reach out if you need to make other arrangements.

*A valid Strongman Corporation membership must be presented at weigh in*

  • 1 athlete in a class: the promoter may merge the class with another class; if the athlete competes alone they will earn an invite by completing (i.e. not “zeroing”) at least 4 of the 5 events to the standards originally set forth by the promoter. Promoters should not lower weights or modify events specifically to allow the solo athlete to qualify for Nationals.
  • 2-4 athletes in a class: 1st place qualifies for Nationals
  • 5-9 athletes in a class: 1st and 2nd place qualify for Nationals
  • 10+ athletes in a class: 1st-3rd place qualify for Nationals

Novice Class is generally recommended for new competitors

1. EMCIMBINI WELLNESS TRX PRESS

  • This will be a STATE RECORD setting log press event.
  • All Strongman Corporation Montana State Log Press records are vacant.  The heaviest successful log press in each non-novice class will set a state record.
  • Athletes will attempt to perform the heaviest log press possible.
  • Male athletes will use a 12-inch Mike Bartos' PowerCenter log (150lbs), female athletes will use a 10-inch log (70lbs).
  • Athletes will approach the log and get themselves set.  The judge will confirm the athlete is ready and give a start command.      Athletes will have 60 seconds to clean and press the implement overhead.
  • A lift is completed when the judge calls “down” with locked knees, hips, and shoulders, and head through.
  • The competitor MUST wait for the down command, or no rep will be given.
  • Athletes must have knees, hips, and shoulders locked out in order to receive the down command.      The implement cannot rest on the athlete’s head.
  • Athletes must reasonably control the implement to the ground.  No rep will be given if the implement is dropped from full lock out purposely, this is to protect the athletes, staff and equipment.
  • Athletes will choose their attempt weights.  Opening attempts will be collected at weigh ins.
  • 3 Attempts (legitimate attempts ONLY).  If an athlete fails an attempt they are done.
  • Allowed: An under and over belt are permitted. Chalk, sleeves, wraps, Strongman Corporation approved grip shirt (example: Strongman Corporation grip shirt, Cerberus grip shirt, etc).
  • Not Allowed: Anything sticky, no additions or stuffing into the belt to create a shelf, straps, United States Strongman grip shirts.

2. CARRY AND LOAD MEDLEY

  • Two athletes in the same class will compete head-to-head.  Overall standings will determine athlete pairings.
  • Athletes will approach the start line.  The judge will give an athlete ready command and start command.
  • Athletes will move the three implements down the 50-foot course and load the implements to the platform in ascending order.  Once the final implement has been loaded to the platform and the athlete removes their hands from the implement the time will be stopped. If an athlete is unable to finish the course in the time limit a distance they traveled and implements loaded will be used in scoring.
  • If an implement falls from the platform the athlete must return it to the platform before moving on to the next implement.  Implements that do not remain on the platform will not be counted.
  • 60 second time limit.
  • Allowed: belts, chalk, wraps, sleeves, Strongman Corporation approved grip shirts.
  • Not Allowed:      tacky, anything sticky, straps, United States Strongman grip shirts.

3. DEADLIFT LADDER

  • Two athletes in the same class will compete head-to-head.  Overall standings will determine athlete pairings.
  • The ladder will consist of three bars of differing types and weights.  The first bar will be a standard height power bar, the second bar will be a 13-inch axle bar, the third and final bar will be an 18-inch “mega axle”.
  • The “mega axle“ is 18 inches tall featuring fixed steel wheels and is just shy of 3 inches thick.  Long straps are generally recommended.
  • Athletes will approach the start line, the judge will give an athlete ready command and start command.
  • Athletes will then approach each bar and complete a deadlift prior to moving on to the next bar.
  • Athletes will complete as many reps as possible on the third and final bar with their remaining time.
  • The competitor MUST wait for the down command, or no rep will be given.
  • Athletes must have knees, hips, and shoulders locked out in order to receive the down command.
  • 60 second time limit.
  • Scores will be based on number of completed reps.
  • Allowed: belts, straps, briefs, suits, sleeves, baby powder
  • Not allowed: anything sticky, baby oil

4. SANDBAG TOSS SERIES

  • Two athletes in the same class will compete head-to-head.  Overall standings will determine athlete pairings.
  • Male athletes will toss their sandbags over a 15 foot cross bar, female athletes will toss their sandbags over a 12 foot cross bar.
  • Sandbags will be placed in a row 10 feet from the apparatus.
  • Athletes will start with a hand on the upright, the judge will give an athlete ready command and start command.
  • Athletes will then toss each bag in the series in ascending order over the cross bar.
  • Time will stop once an athlete’s final bag touches the ground.
  • If an athlete is unable to complete the series their score will be based on the number of bags completed.
  • 60 second time limit.
  • No allowed: anything sticky, straps

5. WHEEL OF INCONVIENIENCE 

  • This event is inspired by the “Wheel of Pain” featured at the Arnold Classic.
  • Athletes will approach the apparatus and may place their hands on it.
  • The judge will give an athlete ready command and a start command.
  • Athletes will then push the apparatus in a circle for a maximum achievable distance.
  • If an athlete stops forward movement before the time limit has been reached their attempt will end.
  • Scores will be based on distance traveled.
  • 60 second time limit.

 

*Athletes must clean and sanitize any of their bodily fluids left on the competition floor using the provided cleaning materials.
