The Northwestern Bulls will head out to take on the St. Brendan Sabres at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Northwestern has seven straight victories, St. Brendan has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Northwestern's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 28-0 win over Palmetto. The Bulls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 28 points or more this season.

Northwestern found their leader in sophomore Neiman Lawrence, who threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns. Tarvail Mathis helped Lawrence out on the ground, rushing for 48 yards and one score.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Northwestern's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Demarcus King and Shane Rochelle, who racked up five sacks between them. King is crushing it when it comes to sacks: he's posted at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, St. Brendan fell victim to Immaculata-La Salle and their airtight defense on Saturday. They were beaten by the Royal Lions 40-0. Considering the last time the Sabres couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

Northwestern's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for St. Brendan, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Northwestern against St. Brendan in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 57-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulls since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
