Event Descriptions
Max Log Press( Wessels Rule): Athlete will have 60 seconds to do 1 repetition. Athletes will have 3 attempts to get the heaviest weight they can do. On each attempt the athlete will be deciding the weight they want to attempt to lift.
Wessels Rule Explained: If you fail any of your attempts you’ll lose the chance to lift again. Make sure you open with a weight you can do!!!
You will be given the commands, 1. TAKE YOUR GRIP 2. ATHLETE READY 3. LIFT. On the command of LIFT the time will start and the athlete will have 60 seconds to complete 1 good repetition of the weight they have chosen for the attempt. Athletes can attempt as many times as needed in that 60 seconds to successfully complete a good repetition. Once the log is fully locked out overhead and your feet are in line and the elbows are locked, the athlete will be given a DOWN command. Any issues with the ability to fully lock out need to be brought to the competition director and judges after the rules meeting.
Do not drop the log overhead. Intentionally dropping the log from overhead will earn an athlete a zero on that attempt.. Do not rest the log on your head.
Allowed Gear: Grip shirts, chalk, belts soft and hard or both, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, knee sleeves.
Car Deadlift: Athletes will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible. Athletes will be given two commands before the start of the event 1. TAKE GRIP 2. READY 3. The athlete will control the implement back to the ground and repeat for as many reps as possible in 60 Seconds. Straps allowed.

This will be the order athletes are expected to carry these implements. Athletes will not throw implements over the bar. They will display control . If you’re strong enough to chuck the object over the bar then you’re strong enough to bring it over with control. This is for the safety of our judges and to respect the equipment we have so we can run this event for you.IF AN ATHLETE THROWS AN OBJECT OVER BAR THEY WILL GET A ZERO FOR THE EVENT.
