Implements
All events except the wagon hold will be done with a banded wagon.
Pictures of the actual wagon will be pushed out when the wagon is finished. Weights will be posted as additional weight in the wagon. Models will also be used to add weight so there will be some variance in the actual weight of the event. Models will weigh between 150-160lbs. Strongman is a show so let's give the crowd something to watch. Also, you’ll probably never do an event as cool and original as this one anywhere else.
Rules:
Event 1- wagon press (Viking press just with a wagon instead.)
-This event will be for the max amount of reps in one minute
-Any type of split jerk is not allowed
-Double dipping is not allowed
-Athletes will start facing away from the wagon with hands on the bars. It will be a neutral grip. On the go command, the athlete will start. A good rep is when the feet are flat on the ground knees, hips, and elbows are all locked out.
-The athletes will be given a down command only.
- if the athlete drops the implement onto the ground the athlete's attempt will conclude right there. The athlete needs to have control of the implement throughout the entire set. If they need to stand on blocks they can.
Gear allowed
1 soft belt, 1 hard belt, 1 set of elbow/knee sleeves or wraps, chalk, wrist wraps, wrist straps
Gear not allowed
tacky
Event 2- wagon deadlift
-This will be a max-out event.
-Each athlete has unlimited attempts. If an attempt is missed then the athlete is out.
-The bar will be in front of the athlete with their back to the wagon.
-No specific order will be given in this. All classes will be going at the same time. The weight will start at just the wagon weight. Then a model will be added. Athletes will lift that if they want. Then another model will be added. Athletes will lift that if they want.
-After that point, 50 lbs will be added to the wagon until the event is complete.
-if the lifter drops the wagon from the top they will be given a no rep and they are done with that event.
Gear allowed
1 soft belt, 1 hard belt, 1 set of elbow/knee sleeves or wraps, chalk, wrist wraps, wrist straps
Gear not allowed
Tacky, deadlift suit, deadlift briefs
Event 3- wagon drag
-This event will be for the fastest time or distance
-Total distance is 100’ and the time limit is 1 minute.
-The athlete will face away from the wagon and use a rope slung over their shoulder to
drag the wagon to the finish line. the athlete can not turn around at any time to finish the drag. they need to stay in the same position with the rope slung over their shoulder throughout the attempt.
Gear allowed
