THIS IS A NOVICE ONLY COMPETITION. It is restricted to any athlete that has not competed in an open division or has not won a novice division. A USS membership is required to compete.

RULES:

TIRE FLIPS

• 60 second time limit
• Tire will be flipped then athlete will move to other side of tire to flip back. Tire is not being flipped for distance.
• Flip counts once tire hits the ground.
• Tire cannot be rested on belt
• EQUIPMENT ALLOWED: belts, knee and elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, gloves, grip shirts, chalk
• NOT ALLOWED: tacky or adhesive of any kind

CIRCUS DUMBBELL

• 60 second time limit
• Each rep must be cleaned from the ground
• Dumbbell can be cleaned with two hands, but must be pressed with one hand
• No "tree-topping" dumbbell. The dumbbell must be lowered with control.
• EQUIPMENT ALLOWED:  belts, knee and elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, grip shirts, chalk
• NOT ALLOWED: tacky or adhesive of any kind, gloves
• Novice Light Weight Women will use a standard dumbbell with a fat grip attached

AXLE DEADLIFT

• 60 second time limit
• Athlete will begin strapped in to or gripping bar
• Down command will be given once lift is completed successfully, no "up" command
• Touch and Go reps allowed
• Socks covering shins MUST be worn. Shoes are not required, but feet must be covered.
• EQUIPMENT ALLOWED:  belts, knee and elbow sleeves, wrist straps, figure 8 straps, chalk
• NOT ALLOWED: tacky or adhesive of any kind, deadlift suits or briefs

HARNESSED TRUCK PULL 

• 60 second time limit
• 100' distance
• Athlete will begin harnessed to vehicle and gripping pulling rope. Pulling rope does not have to used and can be dropped at any time.
• If distance isn't completed in time limit, distance will be used for scoring
• EQUIPMENT ALLOWED: belts, knee and elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, gloves, chalk
• NOT ALLOWED: tacky or adhesive of any kind

STONE TO SHOULDER

• 60 second time limit
• Athlete must lift each rep from the ground
• Rep will be counted once stone is successfully shouldered and opposite hand is removed showing control of stone.
• Stone can be dropped forward or behind athlete.
• EQUIPMENT ALLOWED: belts, knee and elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, grip shirts, chalk
• NOT ALLOWED: tacky or adhesive of any kind, gloves
