This is a Strongman Corporation sanctioned event. Qualifications will be available for 2025 Nationals. Qualifications are based on the number of competitors in each class on competition day. ALL COMPETITORS are required to have an active Strongman Corporation membership to compete. You can purchase your membership here, on the Strongman Corporation website.
Strongman Corporation membership is different than a USS membership. Be sure you have the correct membership for competing in this federation.
Weigh Ins
Timing TBD. All weigh ins will take place at Edge Strength & Conditioning, the location of the competition.
All Athletes must weigh in, even open athletes.
All athletes must show their current Strongman Corp Membership at weigh ins. A screen shot of your membership is often the easiest way to show this. Be sure to have your membership current before the date of the competition. Strongman Corp advises at least three days ahead of when you need it in case there are processing issues, but you should do it sooner! Better to be safe than sorry.
General Guidelines, Rules, and Weight Classes
Nationals Qualifications Guidelines:
For a local competition (this is a local competition), the number of qualifying athletes depends on the number of athletes competing ON THE DAY OF COMPETITION and follows these standards:
- 1 athlete in a class: the promoter may merge the class with another class; if the athlete competes alone they will earn an invite by completing (i.e. not “zeroing”) at least 4 of the 5 events to the standards originally set forth by the promoter.
- 2-4 athletes in a class: 1st place qualifies for Nationals
- 5-9 athletes in a class: 1st and 2nd place qualify for Nationals
- 10+ athletes in a class: 1st-3rd place qualify for Nationals
"Trump" rules: In a trump style event, athletes are presented with one lighter implement and one heavier implement. A single rep on the heavy implement will beat any number of reps completed on the lighter implement.
For example, Athlete 1 completes 7 reps on the light implement and athlete 2 completes 1 rep on the heavy implement. Because of this, athlete 2 beats athlete 1 in this event.
Athletes may chose to start on either implement and may switch between the lighter or heavier implement at any time. Please note that if the athlete completes any reps on the heavier implement that is all that will be considered in scoring the event. For example, an athlete may choose to complete a single rep on the lighter implement, to guarantee themselves points for the event, then move to the heavier implement. If said athlete completes 3 reps, the athletes score would be 3 reps on the heavy implement, not 3 Heavy and 1 Light.
Competition shirts must be worn for all events.
Equipment NOT allowed on all events: Grip shirts, Grip shorts, Tacky, any sticky stuff, Baby Oil, Baby Powder, Deadlift Hook style straps, gloves.
Event weights are listed in pounds. Events weights are subject to change. Updates to event weights will be shared via email to all competitors.
Weight Classes:
Strongman Corp is moving to kilogram weight classes permanently in the 2026 season and is requesting promoters to us kilogram weight classes in 2025 if possible. Conversions shown below. There is no allowance over the weight class for clothing. Weigh ins will be conducted in kilograms.
Men’s Weight Classes:
80kg- (176.4lbs and below)
90kg- (Between 176.5lbs and 198.4lbs)
105kg- (Between 198.5lbs and 231.5lbs)
120kg- (Between 231.6lbs and 264.6lbs)
Open (264.7lbs and above)
Women’s Weight Classes:
57kg- (125.7lbs and below)
64kg- (Between 125.7lbs and 141.1lbs)
73kg- (Between 141.2lbs and 160.9lbs)
82kg- (Between 161.0lbs and 180.8lbs)
Open (180.9lbs and above)
EVENTS
All event weights and rules subject to change.
Log clean and press with "trump" weights (reps):
All classes will use 12" logs. The logs will start on Bells of Steel crash pads or Ab Mat Log Crash Cushions. This will be a "trump" style event, see details on trump rules above. Athletes will start behind the lighter impliment, and on "GO" will approach the implement they are choosing to start on. Athletes will receive a "down" command will be given when the log is locked out overhead and feet in line. The log may be guided down to pads from lockout, but may not be dropped from the locked out overhead position. Doing so will result in a warning, then a no rep for subsequent instances. The log may not rest on the athletes head mid lift. This will result in a no rep. Belts with a lever or prong must be worn to the side or in back of the athlete.
60 second time limit.
Equipment allowed: Belt, Soft/Support Belt, Knee Sleeves, Elbows Sleeves, Compression Cuffs, Wrist Wraps.
Equipment not allowed: Grip shirts, Grip shorts, Tacky, any sticky stuff, gloves.
Deadlift for reps with "trump" weights (reps):
All classes will use deadlift bars. This will be a "trump" style event, see details on trump rules above. Athletes will start behind the lighter implement, and on "GO" will approach the implement they are choosing to start on. Athletes strap in to the bar on their own time. Athletes will receive a "down" command when knees and hips are locked out. Dropping the bar from the locked out position will result in a warning, followed by a no rep for subsequent instances. Touch and go reps are not allowed. Feet must be covered, at least wear socks...please.
If you normally train with baby powder or oil on your legs for deadlifts, just wear some leggings. Don't make the bars all nasty please!
60 second time limit.

Equipment not allowed: Baby powder, oil, hook style deadlift straps
Sandbag to shoulder series (reps + time):
Athletes will start behind the lightest bag in the series, and on "GO" will begin lifting the sandbags to shoulder. Fastest time to complete all 4 bags wins. Credit will be given for each bag lifted, but NO split times will be taken. Athletes will receive a "down" command when the sandbag is on the athletes shoulder is under control with only one hand touching the sandbag. Bags are of various brand, Cerberus, Iron Mind, etc.
60 second time limit.

Conan's Wheel (distance):
Athlete will carry a Conan's Wheel implement as far as possible within the time limit. The implement must be carried in front of the body, and may NOT rest on a belt or on the top of the shoulders. The athlete must carry counterclockwise. The athlete's attempt ends when any portion of the implement touches the ground. Weight listed in weight matrix is not reflective of the "weight in hand" for the athlete. Implement pick height will be set according to the shortest athlete in the class, not adjusted for each individual athlete.
60 second time limit.

Fatback Farmers to Sandbag Steeple Chase (reps + time):
Athlete will start with their hands on the farmers handles at the start line, and on "GO" will begin the course. The course will be 40 feet long. The athlete will complete the fatback farmers for 40 feet, then the sandbag steeple chase for 40 feet back in the opposite direction. Rules for each portion of the medley below. Athletes will receive a score of 1 rep (without split times) for each portion of the course completed (1 rep for finishing the farmers, 1 rep for loading the sandbag over yoke, 1 rep for finishing the sandbag run. Total of 3 reps over the course of the event), and will receive a split time for finishing the course.
Fatback Farmers: Athletes will deadlift the farmers for 4 reps at the start line, and on the fourth rep will run the full 40 feet of the course then set down the farmers once they cross the 40 foot line. Sliding the farmers is not allowed. Please do not drop the farmers from the top! It will damage the turf the event will be run on.
Steeple Chase: Athletes will pick the sandbag and carry it 20 feet down the course and load over a yoke. Then they must repick the sandbag and carry it the remaining 20 feet of the course. Shouldering of the sandbag is allowed. Athletes may choose to go under or around the yoke after loading the sandbag over the crossbar. Athletes may not jump over the yoke. Mens Open and Mens Masters will load over a 50 inch yoke. Novice Men and all Women classes will load over 46 inch yoke.
