Salute to Service II: Operation Broken Arrow
$80
Gilbert, AZ
We are excited to invite all Police/Fire/Military/EMS/Nurses who want to test their strength and endurance! Who will be AZ's Fittest First Responder? Find out on November 9th!
Join us for Salute to Service II: Operation Broken Arrow. The new name reflects aircraft combat orders to support overwhelmed troops in the field. We're teaming up with Respect The Grind Fitness to honor and support struggling veteran's and their families during the holiday season. Proceeds from this fundraiser + Strongman contest will be donated to QRF + MVP! We will have many vendors for this event, so we encourage you to invite friends and family for a fun Saturday for an important cause!
This contest will not have weigh-ins the day before, so plan accordingly. Athlete check in will begin at 8am on 11/9 and our athlete meeting will begin at 8:30am. With an event start time of 9am.
Prizes
Gold, Silver, and Bronze Trophies + TBD
Event 1: Axle Clean + Press AMRAP
Athlete's will have 60 seconds to complete as many reps as possible on an Axle Barbell. At the judge's command of: "Athlete ready? Go!" athlete's will begin their lifts. The "down" command will be given once the barbell is locked out overhead with full control. Athlete's must wait for the judge's "down" command to receive a good rep. Athlete's must maintain control of the barbell at all times.
Most reps wins!
Event 2: Max Deadlift
Each athlete will have ONLY 3 attempts to lift the heaviest weight. Women will begin at 185lbs, with weight increasing +20lbs each round. Men will begin at 315lbs, with weight increasing +40lbs each round. You may "opt-in" or out on any round you choose, so select your three attempts wisely. Loss of grip, or any downward movement of the bar after the bar has left the floor will also invalidate that attempt. Athlete's must wait for the "down" command for their attempt to be successful. Wrist straps are allowed.
Heaviest weight wins!
Event 3: Yoke + Farmer's Carry Max Distance
For this event, athlete's will begin by carrying the Yoke for 50 feet. Once the Yoke has crossed the 50' mark, athlete's will move to the Farmer's Carry, and carry the implements as far as possible dropping and turning every 50'. Drops are only allowed at the end of the distance. Drops mid-way down the course will be marked for distance and scored. If athlete's do not drop during the course, distance will be marked and scored once time expires. This event has a 90 second time limit. Weights shown above for Farmer's Carry is per hand.
Farthest distance wins!
Event 4: Car/Truck Pull
For this event, athlete's will drag a car or truck (depending on gender/weight class) with a harness for 80 feet. An anchored rope will be added to the course for athlete's to pull on. Time will stop when the athlete has crossed the 80' mark, or distance will be marked if the course is not completed in 60 seconds.
Fastest time wins!
