EVENT RULES
EVENT 1: MAX DEADLIFT
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt, Straps, Deadlift Suits, Deadlift Briefs
Attempts: 3 attempts using Wessels Rule. 45 seconds on the platform
Scoring: Max Weight
The athlete will start strapped into the bar. On the start command of the judge, the athlete will begin pulling and have 45 seconds to complete the lift. Athlete will be given a down command once a good rep is completed. Judges are looking for shoulders back, hips through, and knees locked. Hitching is allowed. No Sumo pulls. This is scored using Wessels Rule. You have 3 attempts but if you miss one, you're done. After each attempt, you'll tell your judge / score keeper your next attempt. If the bar is dropped before the down command, no rep will be given. No finger-tipping the bar while using straps. Thumbs must be in contact with the barbell. Deliberately dropping the barbell from the top will result in a ZERO for the event. Please respect the equipment. This event will be ran using a deadlift bar. State records are up for grabs. Ensure that Katie or Justin are watching your attempt.
EVENT 2: KEG PRESS FOR REPS
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt
Time Limit: 60 seconds
Scoring: Max Reps
On the start command of the judge, the athlete will have 60 seconds to complete as many clean and press each rep as possible. The judge will give a down command for a good rep. If a down command is not given and the athlete drops the keg, no rep is given. A down command will be given when the athlete has pressed the keg overhead and has locked elbows, standing straight up and down, squared feet, has control of the implement, and looking at the judge. If any athlete has an elbow lockout issue, it is their responsibility to notify the judge before the event on their turn. Once the athlete gets a down command, they must have the keg touch the floor before beginning the next press attempt. The keg can be dropped from overhead but MUST be done with control and guided to the floor. A "tree drop" will result in a ZERO for the event. Please respect the equipment. The keg must be dropped on the stall mats.
EVENT 3: YOKE WALK TO KEG CARRY MEDLEY
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt
Time Limit: 60 Seconds
Scoring: Distance/Time
The athlete will get set in the yoke. On the start command of the judge, the athlete will pick up the yoke and carry it 40 feet down (the tip of the implement must cross), run back to the keg, pick it up and run it back 40 feet. The keg can be shouldered if the athlete chooses. The keg must be placed standing up on the stall mat at the end of the run for the time to stop. If the full run is not completed in the 60 second time limit, the athlete will be given a distance score.
EVENT 4: FINGALS FINGER
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Wrist Wraps, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt, Gloves
Time Limit: 60 Seconds
Scoring: Max Reps
The athlete will set up over the fingals finger not touching the implement. On the start command of the judge, the athlete will pick up the implement and begin to flip for the first rep. The athlete will continue to flip the implement for 60 seconds to obtain as many reps as possible. Time is counted when the implement hits the ground after being flipped.
EVENT 5: KEG OVER BAR
Equipment Allowed: Chalk, Elbow Sleeves, Knee Sleeves, Warmer Shorts, One Soft Belt, One Hard Belt
Time Limit: 60 Seconds
Scoring: Max Reps
Athlete will start with hands on the crossmember of the yoke. On the start command of the judge, the athlete will have 60 seconds to pick and load the keg over the bar for as many reps as possible. The bar will be 48" for women and 52" for men. There will be a catcher feeding the keg back to the athlete. If the keg is thrown at the catcher in an uncontrolled manner, the catcher will ensure their own safety. So if the keg rolls away, that still counts against your time. Hands are not allowed to be placed on the yoke to chest bump over the bar. Time is counted when the implement hits the ground after a completed loaded rep.
TIE BREAKER
IF TIME PERMITS - If any podium spots come down to a tie, we will do one final event to see who wants the win more. Event will not be announced until we are in the moment.
