-----EVENTS & RULES-----

1.) Yoke Carry

60 sec

The athlete will begin under the yoke with both yoke skids in contact with the ground.  On the START command, the athlete will pick up the yoke and carry it 35 feet for women and 50 feet for men.  The entire implement must cross the finish line for the time to stop.  Unlimited drops.  Score will be the time it takes the athlete to carry the yoke across the finish line.  If an athlete is unable to complete the course, their total distance will count as their score. A three second time penalty will be assessed if an athlete slides the yoke across the finish line.

Equipment Allowed: Soft belt, belt, knee and elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk, grip shirt (no OSG/SC grip shirts).

2.) Odd Object Press Medley

60 sec

Objects in order are: sandbag, circus dumbbell, and keg

Athlete will start approximately 10 feet from the implements at the start line.  On the START command, the athlete will lift and press the sandbag overhead, move to the circus dumbbell which will be lifted and pressed overhead, then move to the keg which will be lifted and pressed overhead.  Any pressing variation is allowed (No tree topping of any of the implements).  The athlete must receive the down command to move to the next implement.  Implements must be pressed in order.  Time stops when the athlete successfully completes the final press and receives the down command.  Score will be the time it takes to complete all three presses.  If an athlete is unable to complete the event, their score will be number of reps completed + time in which they were completed.

**Let judges know any physical lockout limitations and demonstrate prior to the event starting

Sandbag: Will can be lifted with one or both hands but must be pressed with both hands.

CDB: Circus Dumbbell will be lifted in the traditional strongman style with both hands but must be pressed with one hand.  Support hand must be obviously off the dumbbell before the pressing motion begins.

Keg: Any clean and press variation can be used including Viper Press.

Equipment Allowed: Soft belt, belt, knee and elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk, liquid chalk, athletic tape for wrists.

3.) Deadlift For Reps

60 sec

Athlete may start strapped in.  On the START command, the athlete will perform as many conventional deadlifts as he/she can in the allotted time.  A rep is counted when triple extension is achieved and the lift is fully locked out.  Athletes must wait for the down command; failure to wait for the down command will result in the rep not being counted.  Hitching and touch and go's are allowed, this is Strongman not powerlifting.  Score will be number of completed reps in allotted time.

Equipment Allowed: Soft belt, belt, knee and elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk, deadlift suit, lifting briefs, lifting straps, figure 8's.

We will have several deadlift suits on hand for athletes to use.  First come, first served.

4.) Fire Hydrant Carry & Keg Load

60 sec

The athlete may start with hands on the fire hydrant (yes, an actual fire hydrant).  On the START command, the athlete will pick up the fire hydrant and carry it by any means necessary, 35 feet for women and 50 feet for men, and set it in the upright position.  The athlete will then return to the start line and carry the keg, 35 feet for women and 50 feet for men, to a yoke and load the keg over the yoke (women: 48" men: 52") as many times as possible with their remaining time.

Score will be the total number of reps competed on keg load over bar.  If an athlete cannot complete a single rep, their score will be either the distance they carried the implement, or the time it took for them to reach the yoke with the keg depending on how far they made it down the course.

The hydrant must be in the upright position before moving to the keg.  There will be one fire hydrant for males and one for females - all competitors of one gender will use the same implement.

Equipment Allowed: Soft belt, belt, knee and elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk, grip shirt (no OSG/SC grip shirts), gloves.

5.) Three Stone Series

60 sec

The athletes will start with hands off the stone and wrists resting on the yoke cross bar.  The athletes will hoist stones in ascending order over bars of descending height.  The lighter the stone, the higher the bar. heights will be: 52", 48", 44" for woman and 60", 52" 48" for men.

Score is the time it takes to hoist all three stones over the bars.  If an athlete is unable to complete all three stones, their score will be the time it took them to compete the heaviest stone he/she could successfully lift over bar.

ALL TACKY WILL BE APPLIED & REMOVED OUTSIDE

Equipment Allowed: Tacky, tacky towel, stone sleeves, tape for forearms, belt, soft belt, elbow/knee sleeves.
