Strongman Corporation Southeast Regionals @ South Carolina's Strongest Man & Woman 2025
$100
Myrtle Beach, SC
Strongman Corporation Membership is required for all competitors - https://bit.ly/3Ga2xDk
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT CLASS YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR. Novice classes are for new athletes, not athletes who like the Novice weight matrix better. If you have EVER competed Open, you are not eligible to compete Novice. If you have ever podiumed in a Novice class, you are no longer eligible for Novice. If you have competed Novice several times and still haven't podiumed, that sucks but it's still time to go Open.
The weights depicted are the MAXIMUM WEIGHT for that class. For example, if you sign up for MWM (231.4-), that means you must weigh in UNDER 231.4. Please email or call me if you're unsure what class to sign up for!

Circus Dumbbell For Reps (Light/Heavy Options):
- Dumbbell Options: Competitors can choose between a Heavy and a Light Circus Dumbbell. Reps on the Heavy dumbbell score higher than any number on the Light.
- 60-Second Time Limit: One attempt only within the 60-second limit. Competitors may switch between dumbbells during this time, but only Heavy dumbbell reps will count if both are attempted.
- Start Position: Begin behind a line, with the dumbbell on the floor and hands off until the judge’s command.
- Lifting Technique:
- Two hands are allowed to clean the dumbbell to the shoulder, but only one hand may press overhead.
- Press variations allowed include strict press, push press, push/power jerk, and split jerk.
- Non-lifting hand must not touch the lifting arm, hand, or dumbbell during the press.
- Each rep must be cleaned from the floor before pressing.
- Control & Commands:
- Wait for the judge’s “down” command for the rep to count, with feet square, elbows locked, and head through.
- Dumbbell must be lowered in a controlled manner to the floor or onto pads. Dropping off pads results in a no rep.
- Dumbbell cannot rest on the athlete’s head.
- Athlete must remain upright with feet shoulder-width apart for the “down” command.
- Scoring & Disputes: Video evidence is allowed for rep count disputes but not for lockout quality if a “down” command was given.
- Equipment Allowed: Belt, chalk, sleeves, knee wraps, grip shirts (NON USS).
- Equipment Not Allowed: Tacky, spray tack, elbow wraps, Belts cannot be built up with towels, etc.
- Dumbbell Specs: Plate-loadable Circus Dumbbells – 12” for men and 10” for women.
- Good Lift: A clean to shoulder, single-hand overhead press with full lockout, stationary legs, and control over the lift.
Axle Deadlift Ladder:
- Time Limit: 60 seconds.
- Event Setup:
- Athletes start strapped in, and wait for the "GO" command.
- Axles are pulled from standard height; no elevated deadlift (e.g., wagon wheels, blocks).
- Lifting Order:
- Deadlift three axles in ascending order. After the final axle, complete as many reps as possible until time expires.
- Move to the next axle only after receiving a “DOWN” command.
- Thumb must be touching the axle during the lift.
- Lift Standards:
- To receive a “DOWN” command, full lockout is required (hips and knees locked, shoulders neutral).
- Bar must not be dropped from lockout; knees and hips must unlock before releasing.
- Conventional stance only, with hands outside the knees and feet.
- Scoring: Your score is based on the total reps completed on the final axle you lift.
- Example:
- If you lift only the first axle, your score is its weight + 1.
- If you lift only the second axle, your score is its weight + 1.
- If you reach the third axle, your score is its weight plus the number of reps you complete.
- Example:
- Important: Any rep on the final axle attempted will outrank any reps performed on the first or second axles.
- Equipment Allowed:
- Wrist wraps, lifting straps (including figure 8s), briefs, elbow and knee sleeves, knee wraps, soft and hard belts, chalk.
- Equipment Not Allowed:
- Gloves, deadlift suits, tacky, spray tacky, baby powder, oils, or friction aids on legs.
- Footwear: Shoes are optional, but feet and shins must be covered (e.g., deadlift socks).
Yoke Carry:
- Course: 80-foot course, split into 40 feet out, drop yoke, and 40 feet back.
- Time Limit: One attempt with a 60-second time limit.
- Start Position: Begin with the yoke on the floor, shoulders under the crossbar, and wait for the signal to start.
- Grace Period & Set Downs:
- A 3-foot grace period is allowed at the start. After this, only one set down of the yoke is permitted.
- If the yoke is dropped a second time, the distance from the start to the front of the yoke is recorded.
- Sliding Rule: No sliding of the yoke allowed. Obvious sliding results in disqualification, while accidental sliding incurs a 2-second penalty.
- Finish Line: The front of the yoke must cross the finish line to stop the clock. Fastest time wins.
- Equipment Allowed: Belt, knee sleeves or wraps, supportive suits, chalk, grip shirts (NON USS).
- Equipment Not Allowed: Tacky, or any sticky substances.
Sandbag Carry Race:
Course & Time Limit: Competitors have one attempt to complete a 80ft 60-second course. Time is recorded if the full course is completed; otherwise, distance is measured. No split times.
Course Details:
- Two sandbags (lighter and heavier) are lined up at the starting line.
- Competitors start behind the mat and pick up the lighter sandbag first.
- Movement: Carry the sandbag 40 feet, go around the cone, and return it across the starting line.
- Repeat with the heavier sandbag.
- Time stops when the front of the final sandbag crosses the starting line.
Rules:
- Competitors must carry each sandbag by hand (shouldering is NOT allowed).
- Each sandbag may be dropped once during its carry.
- A second drop on the same bag ends the attempt, with distance recorded.
- Competitors must pass fully around the cone at the 40-foot mark—turning back early is not permitted. If flagged by the judge, they must redo the turn correctly.

Equipment NOT Allowed:
- No tacky, spray tacky, or any adhesive assistance
Last Man Standing: Max Reps Sandbag Load Over Bar:
Event Format: This is a max reps sandbag load event, where athletes compete head-to-head until one remains. The competitor with the most successful reps wins.
Order & Starting Position:
- Competitors in each weight class start in reverse order of overall placing.
- Sandbags are placed at the base of a yoke with a crossbar (height: 48” for women, 52” for men).
- Two athletes approach the yoke and stand upright, hands off the sandbag, awaiting the judge’s command.
Rules:
- On the judge’s “go” command, Athlete 1 has 30 seconds to lift and load the sandbag over the bar (one rep).
- The next competitor then has 30 seconds to load the sandbag back over the bar.
- This cycle continues for max reps, with each competitor having 30 seconds from the moment the bag hits the ground.
- If an athlete fails to complete a rep within 30 seconds, they are eliminated, and the next athlete steps in.
- Athletes continue until only one remains; the competitor with the most reps in their weight class wins.
- Once a competitor fails, their final score is the number of successful reps completed.
Equipment:
