Please note that regionals 2022 events will be open to all athletes (NO QUALIFICATION NEEDED) in order to ensure enough athletes.


If there is 1 athlete in a class, they will get combined with another class or just get a regionals bid (we will leave that up to the promoter).

If there are 2-5 athletes in a class:
1st place - Qualifies for Nationals (2022) and Regionals (2023)

2nd - Qualifies for Regionals (2023)

3rd - Qualifies for Regionals (2023)

If there are 6+ athletes in a class:

1st - qualifies for Nationals (2022) and Regionals (2023)

2nd - qualifies for Nationals (2022) and Regionals (2023)

3rd - qualifies for Regionals (2023)

4th - qualifies for Regionals (2023)

 

Weigh-ins:

Friday, February 18th – Morning 8:30am-11am | Afternoon/Evening 4-7pm @ Conference Room 102A

Saturday, February 19th Morning 8-9am @ Competition Floor (Booth 1)

Strongman Corporation Membership is required. ($77 membership)

 

Circus Dumbell:

  • A 60 second time limit for max reps.
  • One attempt only
  • Circus dumbbell will be taken from the floor, Two hands are allowed to clean the dumbbell to the shoulder, but only one hand is allowed to press the dumbbell Overhead. The other hand must not come into contact with any part of the lifting arm/ hand/ or dumbbell during the press.
  • Athletes may press, push press, or push jerk the dumbbell overhead to lockout.
  • Athletes must be upright with feet shoulder-width apart in order for judges to give down commands.
  • The athlete must wait for the judges “good” signal before lowering the dumbbell to the floor.
  • The athlete must lower the dumbbell under control back to the floor.
  • Good Lift: The athlete grips the dumbbell with either the left or right hand and cleans the wt to the shoulder, then proceeds to lockout the dumbbell overhead. The arm must be locked out with the weight under control. Legs and feet must be stationary.
  • Equipment allowed: Belt, chalk, knee wraps, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves.
  • Equipment NOT allowed: Tacky, elbow wraps, lifting straps or hooks.
  • Any and all anatomical limitations preventing lockout as described above must be demonstrated to the judge prior to the start of the event. This is solely the responsibility of the athlete.

Wagon Wheel Axle DL:

  • One 60 second time limit attempt for max repetitions.
  • Athletes will strap in after the timer starts.
  • Conventional stance only.
  • Hitching is allowed.
  • Weights must touch the floor before the athlete may proceed to the next rep. The judge will give the athlete a down command before proceeding to the next rep. Absolutely no bouncing of the weights.
  • Good Lift: Athletes must lift the axle to a standing position with head up, shoulders back, legs, and feet in line. Once the signal is given for the lift the athlete must return the bar to the floor under control. NO DROPPING OF THE BAR WILL BE ALLOWED.
  • The athlete may put baby powder on the legs to reduce friction however the athlete should clean the bar after their attempt and before the next competitor.
  • Vaseline, baby oil, or similar product may NOT be used on the legs to reduce friction.
  • Equipment Allowed: Belt, Chalk, Knee wraps or sleeves, Lifting Straps, Briefs & Suits
  • Equipment NOT Allowed: Tacky or similar product. Lifting hooks.

Dinnie Stone Hold Max Time:

  • 1 attempt for the best time.
  • No time limit.
  • Time starts when the athlete locks out the implements.
  • Time stops when one or both implements hit the floor.
  • The judge may read off every 5seconds.
  • Equipment Allowed:  Belt, Chalk, knee wraps or sleeves, wrist wraps.
  • Equipment NOT Allowed:  Lifting straps or hooks, tacky, tape on thumbs or hands.

Yoke Carry: 

  • One attempt.
  • There may be a 60 second time limit to complete a 50' course.
  • There will be a three-foot grace period, after this grace period only ONE set down of the yoke is allowed.
  • If the yoke is dropped a second time, distance will be taken from the start line to the front of the yoke
  • The athlete will start with the Yoke on the floor and shoulders under the crossbar.
  • The signal is given and the athlete must lift and carry the yoke throughout the course and the front of the yoke must cross the finish line to stop the clock.
  • No sliding of the yoke will be permitted. Disqualification from the event if the sliding is obvious, or a 2-second penalty if inadvertent.
  • Equipment allowed: Belt, Knee sleeves or wraps, supportive suits, chalk, grip shirts are allowed.
  • Equipment NOT allowed: Tacky.

Atlas Stone Series:

  • 1 attempt for loading all stones with the fastest time.
  • There may be a 60 second time limit. Time stops when the last stone is over the bar.
  • Athletes hands must be on the stone, stones can be pushed over the bar, no hands-on crossbar.
  • Bar height is 48” for Women, 52” for Men.
  • Stones must be loaded in ascending order.
  • 3 Stones, weights in order from lightest to heaviest. The lightest stone will be 9 feet away from the loading bar, then 6 feet, then 3 feet.
  • Split times will be taken for each stone.
  • The athlete starts with their body upright and hands off of the stone.
  • Athletes must pick up and carry stones to the bar, there will be no rolling of the stone.
  • Equipment Allowed: Belt with buckle to the back, Tacky, Chalk, Knee wraps or sleeves, Forearm sleeves,
  • Equipment NOT Allowed:  Belt buckle to the front of an object in the belt to provide a “shelf”. No built-up shoes to provide extra height
