EVENT DESCRIPTIONS
[While we will try to avoid this, all events and weights are subject to change. Please check back frequently for updates.]
Events will begin at approximately 9:15am and run consecutively until completion of the final event.
Event 1: Freedom Strength Co. Sandbag-to-Shoulder
Upon receiving the start command, the athlete will hoist the sandbag from the ground to the either shoulder, straighten the opposite side arm out, and wait for the down command from the judge. After receiving the down command from the judge, the athlete will return the sandbag completely to the ground. Perform as many reps as possible in 60 seconds.
NOT ALLOWED: Tacky
ALLOWED: Chalk, grip shirt, knee sleeves, other supportive gear, etc.
Event 2: “Southeast Strongman“ Log Clean & Press Away
Upon receiving the start command, the athlete will clean the log, and "press away," meaning they are not required to clean the log after every rep. However, the athlete may choose to return the log to the ground, and clean and press again. DO NOT drop the log from overhead. Perform as many reps as possible in 60 second.
NOT ALLOWED: Tacky, straps
ALLOWED: Chalk, grip shirt, knee sleeves, other supportive gear, etc.
Event 3: Carry & Load Medley
Upon receiving the start command, the athlete will pick and carry the farmers carry implements 50 feet and drop them completely past the finish line, turn and run back, pick and carry the keg 50 feet and load it onto the provided platform, turn and run back, pick and carry the tire 50 feet and load it onto the provided platform, turn and run back, and finally carry the mystery object 50 feet and load it onto the platform. Perform the entire medley as fast as possible, with a 1:30 time limit. No split times will be taken (for example, if multiple athletes only load two implements, they will all "tie").
NOT ALLOWED: Tacky, straps
ALLOWED: Chalk, grip shirt, all supportive gear
Event 4: Sandbag Toss for Distance
The athlete will grip the handle of the bag, and toss it over/behind his or her head, for distance. Each athlete will be given 3 attempts, and the farthest distance of the three attempts will be the one recorded. To avoid a loss of control when tossing the bag, spinning in preparation to toss (such as in the hammer throw) will not be allowed.
NOT ALLOWED: Tacky, chalk, straps
ALLOWED: All supportive gear
Event 5: Will Development Atlas Stone Loading Ladder
Upon receiving the start command, the athlete will load five atlas stones to their corresponding platforms. The stones will be ascending in weight, and the platforms will be descending in height (so you will load the heaviest stone to the shortest platform). Perform the entire ladder as fast as possible, with a 1:00 time limit. No split times will be taken (for example, if multiple athletes only load two implements, they will all "tie").
ALLOWED: Tacky, chalk, stone sleeves, grip shirt, all supportive gear
Remember, the 1st event order is based on the order in which entries are received, so get your entry in ASAP for a competitive advantage!
